Isn't this out on DVD already? I saw tailers for this ages ago.

Personally I love Vampire and Zombie movies, what I hate is when they make one of either for pre-teen girls.

You have to pre-order it on iTunes, so I assume it isn't.

May 11 is the expected release.

It wasn't any good. I was excited based on the trailer, but it was pretty bad.

I enjoyed it o.k., but it isn't a serious movie or particularly well executed.

It isn't so much of a sci-fi suspense as it is a silly, mindless horror. Some of the gore (e.g., vampire heads exploding) was so surprisingly gratuitous that I found it funny and laughed out loud.

I'd probably give it a 6.5 on a 10 point scale.

You nailed it. BOWWWRING! The action was pretty cool though. I thought Ethan Hawke and Sam Neil made great vampires. Was excited that Willem DeFoe was in the movie, but he was so cliche'. Elvis?? Seriously? c'mon.

Vampire & Zombie movies rock as long as it ain't the lovy dovy b/s tween version. I love the gory murdery killing ones. 28 Days/Weeks Later both were good zombie movies while the Underworlds, 30 Days of Night, the Blades, and Interview with a Vampire were all good vampire movies.

Personally I wouldn't mind it if they made Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter into a movie. I'm loving the book right now, still in the process of reading it.

Yeah, I think I'll wait for the blu-ray on the 11th. This movie gets a thread after 6 months?

As far as good vampire movies go:

Blade (the original, the sequels not so much)
The Lost Boys
Near Dark
Vampires (for John Carpenter fans, but not his best work)

What do you mean?

Vampire comes, usually unexplained how. Vampire either goes on a nutjob spree doing something that makes no sense, or Vampire falls in love.

There all the same.

I dunno. Seems like they make sense to me. I mean, you could make the same argument about any movie.

I think Bram Stoker's Dracula explained where its vampire came from.

People crapped on this movie but I loved it.

From Dusk Til Dawn

George-Clooney-tattoo-1.jpg

I always thought his tattoo was awesome. Then everyone started getting tribal tattoos and ****ed up the appeal. Still think its kick *** though. Not because of the tribal but because you can see it on his neck and it runs all the way down to his hand. Pretty sweet.

One of the funniest parts in this movie is when Tarantino is in the RV and he's day dreaming about Juliette Lewis. In his dreams she is like throwing herself at him and when he snaps back to reality he continues on with the conversation they were having in his day dream and she has no clue what the hell he is talking about.

30 Days of Night was ok but ultimately feel short of being real good. It was an ok one time watch though.

The Blade movies...eh. I liked the first one and I didn't care at all for any of the ones that followed. So as a series I wouldn't say it was good but the first movie, as a stand alone, was solid.

Your young and haven't watch too many vampire movies outside of the junk they've shoved down people's throats in your generation. Go back and watch some older Vampire movies and you'll find a vastly different approach that you're more likely to enjoy.

You don't know the basic premise behind how vampires come to exist? It's not Rocket Scientry. :D

The beauty of Vampires is similar to the beauty of Zombies, once they exist, the meer fact that they have to drink blood is enough to make them a public menace.

Zombies show up, you know what, they are going to try and eat you. You don't need anymore reason than that to run and hide or fight them.

The part of the story that makes it interesting is how they are dealt with.

28 Days Later is a great zombie movie and they explain where the zombies come from briefly (and it's not even all that imaginative), but after that, it's all about the apocalypse that follows.

If you want to see a pretty unique vampire movie, rent Let The Right One In. It's based on a great book, although they do change it a bit to make it more believable. I doubt you've seen a vampire movie like it.
