I have a bad feeling

Anyone else have that feeling in their gut about Jerry this year?

I get the feeling he's going to try to outsmart everyone again this year like he did in 2001 with the Quincy Carter/Tony Dixon draft.

I don't like hearing how we're looking at guys for the Wildcat formation. This reeks of Jerry wanting to draft Pat White. I like the guy from Rice, but I have a feeling Jerry's just itching to reach for this guy.

Maybe I'm a bit paranoid. Hopefully that's the case and Jerry listens to his scouts.

Felix Jones was rated in the top 15 on Dallas' board. The Cowboys were lucky Arizona didn't take him.

Jerry has his pet cats, but it's not like Parcells (Mr. Football Guy!) didn't strike out heavily with his own pet cats. The Cowboys have been doing well in the lower end of the draft, mostly due to good scouting. Jerry's not so dumb that he hasn't noticed this.

At worst, he might drop down a bit and pick someone up a half a round too early. And I can find lots of examples of ridicule of GMs taking guys too early, and later that guy turning out to be gold. Vice versa exists there too of course.

It's Vegas, but with big beefy guys instead of neon and showgirls...

Me? absolutley not..Mendenhall had fumblitis in college and held the ball loose...I wanted Felix Choice or Chris Johnson because of their pure speed and the fact that Felix played in a duel back system before.

I wanted nothing to do with Mcfadden, he can't run between tackles and got away with alot in college on speed alone..He's going to be a huge bust like i predicted..

Gawwd I'm a sucha good football scout..I amaze myself sometimes too.

the only bad feeling I have about Jerry this years draft is that if somebody he likes (Beatty, Nicks, Britt) falls between 33-40, he'll trade next years number one to move up there.

I have faith in Ciskowski, Jerry, and Wade. Last year looks like a great draft, and 2001 was a long time ago. Unless our scouts just are way off on their grades, I think we'll be fine.

The one area I could see Jerry reaching for a little is a WR if one falls to "replace" TO. But even last year, Jerry wanted to trade up for Hardy, and everyone in the draft room disagreed, so he didn't. We got Bennett, and Buffalo got a guy in Hardy who didn't do much. So not only do we have smarter people in the room, Jerry is listening to them more.

Just sit back and enjoy this draft. We're going to get some good players who like to play and like to hit.

Choice isn't a pure speed RB and you're right about McFadden's strength not being running between the tackles but he will not be a bust.

I had you confused with someone last year who wanted to trade for McFadden, and was on board with the Barbie pick.
The jury is still out on Mendenhall/McFadden as they could very well turn things around, as things stand now Chris Johnson was the better player this year but potentially I like where we are positioned this year. Still on board with the best player available, I see lots of good players possibly dropping so I am trying my hardest not to fall in love with any one in particular.

Once again sorry for associating you with McFadden(you say biggest bust), Mendenhall(fumble King). Who else to do you see as big busts this year?

Things are much different know. They know how to put a board together and stick to it. Jerry has said many times that he listens to the scouts and coaches much more now than he used to. Most of the recent busts like Carpenter and Rogers where guys Parcells wanted and may have gone away from the board and against some scouts. I'm not worried at all. I think Ciskowski is better than Ireland and last years draft is the first bit of proof to that fact.
