Hope springs eternal. Spring hopes are eternal.Based on what, exactly? Hope?

And it still may not be enough.......We got 2 problems. QB...and that offensive line is a mess. I have zero faith in Guyton being a left tackle.I am starting to have a good feeling about this free agency period, and upcoming draft. I honestly believe JJ & SJ are going to admit through actions that they're philosophy is a failed one. I really do believe we are going to sign 2-3 solid FA's and have an excellent draft !!
......maybe
That's why we're going tier two at leastWith most every team re-signing their own valued free agents...
The free agent class will look something like this:
• 2-3 possible difference makers (at wildly extreme prices)
• 30 potentially nice contributing starters (again, highly-inflated price since there aren't many)
• 5 big gambles, esp. at QB
• Lots of spare parts or gambles
There might be 30 good, reliable free agents available for 32 teams to haggle over.
Despite the wild nonsense of some high-volume voices on this forum...free agency is a STUPID approach to improve your team.
And...sadly...this draft class ain't great.
And the rest of us will hope for the best prepare for the worst and believe it when we see it.@Dallas5xchamps again Mark this as me and you are on board when we sign players in a few weeks let's remind them of what they said
Sounds good I like this answer! And the rest of us will hope for the best prepare for the worst and believe it when we see it.
Good points but we have holes on this team that need to be filled and maybe they can finally be filled with guys that can maybe play a little football. We like to get the guys that are career backups and say we did something. We DON'T have to get the biggest name available that's dumb, but look at the second wave see what's out there hopefully there's a minor gem or two that got looked over during the first wave and their price can come downIf anyone doubts my last post? Go to the NFL.com list of top free agents. Check out their age, their recent injury history, their PFF scores.
A few good players and an island of question marks and misfit toys.
We've had posters devote 10% of their lives here, arguing for big spending on free agents. Time they'll never get back, devoted to pure silliness and the pursuit of meaningless approval from the poorly informed.
yeah it does seem different, and I like shotty as HC, but I dont think he has much influenceExcept this isn't how they have operated in the last few years. Free agency will tell us more, but it feels different to me....
also it depends on who is available each year !Good points but we have holes on this team that need to be filled and maybe they can finally be filled with guys that can maybe play a little football. Let's break this down, yes it does depend on who is available, this year and other years you're going to pay a HUGE bidding rate for players who maybe shouldn't get what they're getting. Those are the players that we shouldn't worry about. It's the guys that we can get that hopefully we took the time to assess who can be actual assets for this team and not just backups and probably get cut after camp is over!also it depends on who is available each year !
Not every year is a good year for FA moves or big ones anyway.
But last year Barclay, and Henry were both available at a good price.
the jones boys didnt even contact them lol.
Tyreek hill was available couple years back, as well as other good players.
Some good pass rushers available this year to teams willing to pay and be aggressive.
Crosby, myles, maybe tj watt, and couple others.
Imagine having another good pass rusher to combine with micah, and then draft another one
high.
Dallas could have the best pass rush in the league, and I saw what that did for philly in the SB !
They only rushed 4, and rest played coverage.
Hook line and sinkerExcept this isn't how they have operated in the last few years. Free agency will tell us more, but it feels different to me....
Respectfully this is an objectively horrible take. Are you really unaware of the players the most recent SB champ added in just one off-season through FA? I haven't looked closely at this year's crop, but to call improving through FA nonsense.....With most every team re-signing their own valued free agents...
