Just my hunch. But I don't think we can afford to occupy a roster spot with a player like Jabril Cox, who I don't think would see the field much this season, especially with players like Jefferson, Harper, maybe even Land breathing down his neck.

What do you think? Do the Cowboys cut bait with Jabril Cox?
I never understood the hoopla over him on this site. Looks like a PS type player to me.

Wouldn’t be surprised if this happened. The guy was still on the field late in a preseason game. That right there tells you he is still fighting for a roster spot. They could very well go light at LBer and long at safety with guys who can play up in the box. They could also bring in another LBer after cuts and it would be Cox they would be seeking an upgrade for so he would have to go.
Kearse would be a better LB than Cox.

Wait a second. Folks last year were saying he was gonna be all pro in 3 years. Not make the team. I call Poppycock.

He could not lock down a starting role at LSU, why would he be a good LB in NFL where consistency is required

I think it's safe to suggest Cox will STILL be a backup to LVE.

More laughable joke analysis. We need him more than ever now.

Do you even read what you wrote before you post it?

Not only should they not cut Cox he should be playing in the nickel IMO. He is also a good STs guy. I think Overshown's injury puts him on the field this year for some snaps on defense. I don't think Jefferson looks very good and I think Cox is better than Harper. They just need to give him a chance. Last year he was coming off the Injury just like Gallup. If he craps the bed this year we move on, but I think he makes the team this year and I don't think he is even a bubble guy

I'd be very surprised if Jabril didn't make it. I thought he was a lock before the Overshown injury.

Cutting Cox would be hard for the F.O. who had great plans for him. Just never grew into the Cox they envisioned.
Luckily, Ball is doing better, as cutting said Cox and Ball in the same year would just be a hit in the nads
this deserves so many more likes than it's gotten

He still has to maintain the advantage over Jefferson, Harper, and Land. This Saturday's game better be settling for his camp picture...agreed.
He was looking like a player before the ACL, the Cowboys might think he still has it in him but he'd better hurry up,,, they like Land,, alot.

Funny thing is. Even in college he struggled against the run and was Moreso just a coverage LB.

Can’t be too shocked that he still can’t stop the run, especially since he suffered a major industry which neutered development time.

Can't change directions. Strictly a STer.

I want to know why we are/were high on him? Doesn't make sense. Do we even know what lateral agility is?

If the TX 3rd rounder longhorn didn't get injured I agree 100% but were thin at LB so this may be his last chance.
