Garrett missed out on his developmental QB last year in Dalton in the 2nd round and I would not be shocked if our 2nd or 3rd round pick is a QB. But what QB would fit what Garrett wants?

I would assume Garret wants a QB who is smart, is a leader, and can make plays in and out of the pocket.

The guy who I think could be our day 2 QB? Russell Wilson.

He has a big arm, great mobility and is a player. Sort of a pet cat of mine. :laugh2:

I think Patrick Witt down in either round 6 or 7 will be the pick.

And I think round 2 or 3 is way to early for Wilson. Maybe the last pick in the fourth round or our fifth round pick.

I don't see anyway he makes it out of day 2.

I'd love it if we got Russell Wilson. The major knock on him is his height, but I don't see that as big of a concern seeing as he played behind guys that are all getting drafted into the NFL.

He's about the same height as Drew Brees.

I think for alot of reasons they put off a QB till 2013. Maybe a UDFA, no draft picks.

I agree with this. 2013 has the potential to be a very rich draft for Qb's and there will be better talent found in the later rounds, than in this years draft. I would think the signing of Orton gives us some time.

1) His height is absolutely a concern.
2) He is over 2" shorter than Brees (6'0.2") an already really short QB. 5'10.7" is kind of ridiculous for an NFL QB. If he is there in the 5th, I think about it... He is smart and talented, but I still probably pass.

It would floor me if we blew a 2nd or 3rd rounder this year after signing A young Kyle Orton to big backup money and while knowing QB is very close to the bottom of our needs.

If we ran the wildcat, I'd maybe consider him in the later rounds. Seeing as how we don't, I want no part of a QB under 6'. JMO.

Don't rule him out because he is short. He measured in at 5'11 at the combine and Brees just threw for 5,500 yards coming in at 6'0. The kid can play.

im not buying that we ever even had an interest in Dalton

wilson doesnt have anything close to Brees' accuracy

If your looking for a late round athletic QB then you should be looking at:

He came in for a work out and left the coaches impressed. They had nothing but positive comments about him. I think he has a chance to be a late round addition.

If Garrett blows a 2nd rounder on a freaking QB with all the holes we got, he is a bigger idiot than even I thought.

It almost happened last year man. Dalton was just a few picks away from being our 2nd round pick.
