In my 13 years as a HC, I had varied staffs. My best staff was comprised of 5 rookies and a few veteran coaches. I was in my second year. My 12th year, I had 4 former head coaches on my staff and we were not very good. Too many coaches wanting to talk and not work. I think this is an issue for us right now. MM is a good HC, but he is not coaching, in my opinion.

I figure MM is probably thinking about Arby's while boy "genius" calls plays.

Shouldn’t have been mad in the first place. An implosion has been obvious since the Seattle game, but it accelerated when Dak went down.

say, if you walked into the locker room right now, smelled a toxic stench, you staying or leaving? What would you think that is? The smell of chippy, practiced football players (even tho I feel like they just sit in the “tape room” getting chocolate covered cherries fed to them by butlers instead of practicing)? McCarthy’s 4 month old lunch? Or the smell of Jerry’s festering wound on this team? Maybe all of them combined? I wonder.

Anyways, I have no doubt the carbon monoxide detector is going off in that facility right now. Anyone could smell the toxicity of this team, except Jerry Jones of course. So toxic, Satan’s pinching his nose in Hell right now. What kind of monster has Jerry created?

I thought that too. Too many chiefs not enough Indians. JG had a staff like that too with Linny and Marinelli so forth.

I was mystified that he wasn’t going to call plays myself. But I get it too. He didn’t want to step on something that was working. He screwed up however not hiring Haslet as his DC and making Nolan (out of left field) his DC.

Only time i ever get mad is when we play the Giants.....that team brings out the beast in me and i start slamming things and screaming

a loss from the Giants will ruin my week

this? This doesn’t bother me at all it is what it is

Take a list and scroll at the current roster. Got nothing at OT, got nothing at DT, got nothing at CB, got nothing at S. Kind of hard to do anything.

The only thing that would made this season even remotely palatable would be a systematic root cause analysis of the team and organization. And, from that, building short- and long-term plans to remedy the current situation.

Sure, it is easy to blame JJ - I'm as guilty as the next. However, until he is ready to accept responsibility for the state of things, we will languish in Bill Murray's "Ground Hog".

Wouldn't it be nice if, instead of being an impediment, JJ was actually a leader for change?

like the Groundhog Day analogy . Sure feels like it so far

I remember McCarthy being more animated in Green Bay on the sidelines. This dude is a statue during game time.

I'm an old school guy and I view coaches as a hybrid teacher Marine drill sergeant. In life and especially in competitive sports men need to be taught and pushed. Back in the day because of that single voice and forceful direction of the head coach, teammates would police themselves to a certain extent.

It's a shame that our owner and GM doesn't see fit to establish a stern no-nonsense approach to success. You don't have to disrespect or dress anyone down but you coach hard to develop tough players that play disciplined and hard.
