So I have this buddy that I have known for almost 20 years. We met in Germany and our careers carried us both to the same spot where we've enjoyed many a Boys game at our favorite sports bar for the past 5 years. So let me set this up... He is a little skittish when it comes to being out enjoying the Boys. I couldn't care less. I am going to enjoy my Boys regardless of how many loud and obnoxious Bears, Jets, Eagles or other (insert team with lame chant here) fans happen to also be in attendance. I save my venting for the Fan Zone. :laugh2:

Last Sunday, at about the 6 min left mark, he wanted to go ahead and leave. There were probably about 8 loud Bears fans at the table next to us and he was ready to go when it appeared pretty much decided. We still had tabs to pay and I pretty much convinced him to just hangout to the end. At the end of the game, those Bears fans went into their little chant. The sound was so loud that it permeated our sullen little grieving hearts. I was cool with it because, like I said, I save my venting for when I get home for the most part. He looked at me and was like "man.. see... that's why I don't like hanging around. I'm not coming back out for awhile. this is bull". :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: Yes. I did lol right there.

So I expected to be right here at the house tomorrow to enjoy the game online in Cowboys chat. Who calls tonight? My man... :laugh2: He's all fired up and wants to get there early tomorrow to get a good seat. Here we go again.

Good luck tomorrow everyone. We'll either have a very interesting and eventful bye week or go in 1-2 with a chance to get back on track to even it up coming out of the bye week. Our Boys make it interesting... I wouldn't have it any other way. :starspin

Germany...prior service?

And yeah he sounds like me at a sports bar :lmao: I can't stand obnoxious fans even our own when we're winning in public...act like you've been there! haha.

I really hope they end that policy so you two can live freely in the future

:lmao2: Funny guy. Thanks for the title change mods. People up in this piece obviously don't know the origin of that term of endearment (My man...)

I rarely go to sports bars or public places that show Cowboy games because I always get in fights. Nothing worse than your favorite team getting worked and then some TOOL starts barking.

Same here. I'm already nervous as it is on gameday. The last thing I need is someone barking at me about my team.

Besides, nothing beats watching the game on Sunday Ticket in the man cave.

Shouting matches that eventually lead to fists haha. I just have a short fuse when it comes to that stuff. I'm unapproachable after a Cowboys loss. I can't help it. So the last thing I want to hear is a moron piling on.

Yeah Sunday Ticket is the way to go.

Interesting opinions here about being out amongst other NFL fans versus watching in the comfort and protections of the humble abode... I kinda like the environment of being amongst fans from a variety of teams all cheering as their teams get busy on the field. Then again, I also could find myself in heaven right here at my desk plugged into Cowboys Chat as the game plays right next to me. I would have been good to go either way. Had he not called, I would have been just as happy right here tomorrow hamming it up with you folks. I'll be completely honest too, the eye candy at the sports bar is exponentially better than Cowboys Chat. :p:

I have done Sunday ticket every year for the last 4 years. This is my first year not doing it (testing myself) and I haven't missed it yet. I was wasting money because most of the time I end up meeting up with the fellas at the bar for the game where Sunday Ticket is all over 20 or so big screens.

Yeah, that would be a waste of money. I tried the sports bar thing for 1 game only. Commanders vs. Cowboys at Washington in 2005. We all know how that game went. I was ready to deck the guy next to me, and he was actually trying to make me feel better.

Depending on the type of fan you are, and how you handle wins and losses, one may never be cut out for sports bars where fans of other teams are present. I prefer the man cave with Sunday Ticket, and the Cowboyszone chat. At least I can put some people on ignore in the chat room. I can't do that in a sports bar.

:laugh2: I'm sure I have done that on an occasion or two in recent years.

It appears that most of us would rather not be subjected to that type of environment. Very interesting indeed. Sounds like he would fit right in on CZ. I'll have to link him up.

I spent 2 years at Rhein Main AB and 3 years at Ramstein AB. I think he spent a lot of his Army time in the Darmstadt area.

Rhein Main AB in Frankfurt was one of the best assignments ever. Gateway to Europe!

I've been all over Germany, France, Switzerland, & Holland. Also had a couple of excursions over into the UK.. Everything is so close. Traveling Europe was definitely a bright spot.

Was in Baumholder and Bad Kissingen on seperate tours. I enjoyed Italy and down to Sicily as well. London on Christmas Eve is a trip, nice one. And Holland has a Tulip Festival once every ten years. And the tulip display is out of this world. Enchuldigen zie bitte...! I still have a wall filled with plates from Volksmarches.
