I don't think that Phillips is some "magic bullet". I've been pretty consistent from the start that I don't know if he's the answer or not but I've been just as consistent in saying that Parcells wasn't the answer from the start.

In the end, I'm hoping that Phillips learned from his huge mistake in Nashville and am incredibly excited to find out.

Well I think the Cowboys are better off today because of Parcells not in spite of him. I think he did the right thing in developing a QB instead of throwing him to the wolves. After the 3 years of 5-11 BP helped to bring hope back to this franchise. I like Wade Phillips and look forward to his tenure here but I do appreciate the job that Parcells did when looking at the whole picture of where this team was before BP and where we are today.

I agree with that Dooms, we are better off than when BP took over. We have better talent on defense and a solid QB for the future.

Just imagine if we would have stuck with Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, and Drew Henson as our QBs.

OK never mind, scrap that. I didn't mean to make anyone :puke:

I'm disappointed that the team did not achieve more with Parcells but I think he is being made the scape goat for every problem under the sun right now.

That's how it always is in any walk of life when someone leaves a work environment. Suddenly everything that went wrong is the fault of the person who isn't there anymore. They're a convenient scapegoat, as you'd imagine - since they are no longer around to defend themselves.

So it'll keep up for awhile. And that's fine. It seems weak-minded, but fine.

Eventually reality will set in - and we'll realize that hey.....what we saw on the field....those were players screwing things up. It's really shocking stuff.

I agree. We are going through changes at my office right now and the guys who are no longer with us are being blamed for every single thing. Oh well so and so did that, it wasn't me. I just laugh about it because I know better. I also expect players to sing the praises of the new HC hell they sung Dave Campo praise as well when he was named the HC. I'm excited about Wade and glad the players are up beat but this is pretty much standard stuff. Lets see how all this comes together once we hit the reg season.

Good post. I suspect we'll be hearing from Drew Henson any day now about how BP did not utilize him properly.
