Dallas might have 11 picks in this years draft.. Use them to draft interior Linemen, Nose Tackles, Middle Linebackers and safeties... Find tough, hard nosed football players that are fundamentaly solid.. We have enough guys that can't Block, Tackle or cover...

I don't think the fundamentally sound part is the problem I think it's the environment at VR which is lacking. If you go by what RW says he started taking it easy in practice because none of the other WR went down field to block. That's something we can't have IMHO.

Not blocking downfield is fundamentally sound?

Of course, the environment is a problem--and that has led to people slacking off on the fundamentals. I would hope that what is being proposed (drafting fundamentally sound people for the middle) would go along with a re-focusing on practicing fundamentals the right way.

I don't think we need Dan Reeves for that. We just need to spend some draft picks there, which we haven't in a while.

I think part of the implication is that it would go along with a re-focusing on the fundamentals. Wade doesn't want his players hitting in practice because practicing, hitting, and blocking only lead to injuries. Someone should have told him they also lead to wins.

Since when does Wade coach the offense? Oh yeah, that's right he doesn't. It was even being reported in mid-season, when Brain Stewart was running the show, that Wade let him do his thing and often wouldn't be at defensive meetings. And that is defense, let alone offense...

Really, if Wade was involved in the offense, don't you think he would have actually run the ball more, emphasizing it all the time, throughout the year...

Suddenly, he is the one coaching the offense and saying it doesn't matter WRs don't block downfield? And this to, after an article that came out, saying Garrett would treat players differently in practice...

It's pretty clear we disagree on where the main coaching weakness is. I think it's with Wade who creates the plan and decides when, where, and how they will practice. You think it's Garrett.

I made a comment about Wade not having people practice in pads and connected that with Roy's statement that the WRs didn't practice blocking downfield. It seems logical to me that not practicing in pads would affect one's ability to practice blocking downfield. Apparently, you disagree.

As of right now.. There is no backup NT. Our MLB's are James, Carpenter and Justin Rodgers.. Our Safeties are Hamlin, K.Davis, T.Battle and Courtney Brown.. We have Corey Proctor and Joe Berger as Backup Guards.. We need some new talented blood in these positions... Injuries will happen..

Don't we still have rights to Holland?

The rest I agree with.

Ah OK... SO Garrett was made Assistant Head Coach and given the highest paid OC job in the league, and re-vamped the entire passing game in 2007, but Wade creates the offensive plan and how they practice..

And yet all reports, and game field evidence, say he didn't even interfere with Brian Stewart in defense, until Jerry told him to get involved. It was also evidence by the fact that the defensive schemes became remarkably different...

But yeah, it was Wade, not Garrett that drew up the offensive game plan...

Yes, I do think Wade decides how they practice. Does anyone dispute that it was his decision not to practice in pads much in December?

And where did I say anything about Wade creating the offensive plan? (You should note that I used "plan" to refer to the practice schedule.) I'm not referring to scheme at all.

Bill Walsh didn't hit in practice...

And blocking doesn't mean 'hitting'...

You know what downfield means? You know it doesn't refer to blocking at the LoS? Your 'connections' are absurd.

Bennett, BTW, is praised for his 'blocking' at the LoS... How did this 'not hitting' effect his blocking?

I prefer to let Jerry and Ciskowski to continue what they did last draft.
