I hope Newman gets his props this year

IMO, Newman played Pro Bowl caliber ball last year, but got snubbed in the final votes. I had him easily in the leagues top 5 cornerbacks. Unfortunately, the media didn't think the same. I feel that he was an interception TD away from getting notice though. If only he was able to return that Int against Denver, he would have got in. But this season, he better get his respect as one of the leagues top corners. I also hope we see more of him at punt returner, because he eerily looks a lot like Deion Sanders whenever he goes back there.

I agree completely.. T New was awesome last year.. SI's Dr. Z had him rated as THE best cover corner in the league last year!! he seems to be the only national guy that noticed though.. Im hoping that the new Madden game jacks up his rating points quite a bit!!!

if madden doesn't have him over 90 ovr, I will change his rating. Newman is awesome. But that is the NFL for you today. If you aren't a playmaker, you aren't going to get noticed most of the time

i agree.. either that, or if he was all about himself and hyped himself up or celebrated like crazy after every good play.. but the thing is, he covered his man so well, he didnt have a huge amount of INTs because people werent throwing his way.. which is exactly what you want from a CB, but its hard to get noticed without the stats.. Madden should have him at least a 92, but I doubt they will.. and honestly, I would rate him about 97 ovr, I think he is that good..

he didnt have a lot of INTs last year...dont expect him to be much higher than an 88-89

as for him being considered an elite corner, i dont think it will ever happen. he is not a "me" guy so people wont really know when he does something great and when he goes up against the other teams' best WR every game it makes it very difficult to get picks
