Get the Terry Glenn situation settled. Pay him, release him, sign the injury waiver. I no longer care. I just want it resolved so we can move on.

Get the rookies under contract.

Get Adam Jones re-instated.

Explore trade options and watch the waiver wire for final pieces of the puzzle.

It is time to see some movement and to have the articles rolling in. Tim McMahon needs to fire up the blog soon and share regular tidbits. He was outstanding at this last year.

News, give me news. The real stuff. Not the friggin' paparazzi stuff this off season has been peppered with. May those thread die a slow painful death.

I think realistically speaking, we'll be on the look-out for a number 3 QB to compete against Bartel and/or take a roster spot.

I still think T Glenn will return to the franchise.

I'm not too worried about the rookies signing on the dotted line. They always get it done just in the nick of time.

As for PacMan, as long as he stays out of trouble, he should be re-instated for the regular season. But I guess Goodell could always throw us a curve ball . . . .

Finally, I wouldn't mind seeing Canty and Ware extended sooner rather than later.

ESPN reported that the Cowboys are 1 of 3 teams (Lions & Bears are the others) very interested in QB Chris Simms when he is released from the Bucs. Not a bad pick-up and probably should be a #2 with us.

Nine days...nine days. That's really not so long from now.

However, there is always one thing that bothers me about training camp! I always tense up waiting for the injury reports!

I can deal with an injury during the season because games are being played...but during training camp injuries always make me freak out!!

Anyway...so, here's to a great training camp. Stay healthy Cowboys!!

What do you feel is the final/missing piece?

I say

1. A real backup young qb
2. Roy Williams trade from Det

Offer Detroit next year's 1st rounder and the extra 3rd and 4th rounders the team acquired for Roy Williams and use some of the cap space still available to get him signed long-term.

Then sign Simms to be the team's #2 or #3 quarterback (though I'd prefer Culpepper) and the dream offseason is complete.

I would like to echo these acquisitions. I'd pay different than all draft picks though.

*shudders* Culpepper? I wouldn't want him to QB the Desperados let alone the Cowboys.

I prefer Culpepper because he's actually done it.

Not too long ago, he was an All-Pro, Top 5 quarterback.

I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't be better than Simms who has shown little in my opinion.

However, I would have it written into his contract that he's prohibited from doing that stupid arm-rolling thing!

Why would we give up a 1st and either a 3rd or 4th for a QB thats going to ride the pine? Honestly, I don't think Simms is that good of a QB. And another thing, he might want to go to the Bears where he would have a legit shot of being a starter.

That 'offer' was for Detroit's WR Roy Williams.

Hmmm....pretty sure he's not referring to Simms here. ;)

He's talking about trading that for Roy Williams from Detroit. He also said about acquiring Simms after he is released.

I think we all agree with your post.

I would like to see before camp - (1) cut glenn, (2) trade for lions RW, and (3) get Simms or other young backup QB....

I know what you mean Hos, but I can't believe you are tired of the "Hey did you see Romo and Jessica out on the town doin all kinds of things? They were doin stuff out on the town believe me......alot of stuff." (imagine this being said in a Stewie Griffin voice) ;)

My finishing touches:

1. Jerry raises offer to Glenn to vet Min. (800k ish). You can't expect a man to play for less than minimal so we have a mutual compromise.

2. Would prefer to sign the rooks sooner but you know Jerry, it's probably going to happen @ the midnight hour just before camp starts.

3. Don't think Simms would be happy behind Romo. Let Johnson get pushed out by Bartel, I perfer a homegrown understudy. Romo's a young man, not much wear n tear. He should make it through the season.

4. Getting Roy Williams (WR):
We are overstocked at some positions (D-line, CB, LB, young WRs), possible O-line but would perfer not to trade O-line due to the Columbo status. Any of which position we could offer in a package.
We're loaded with draft picks 12ish, so we have the ammo.
Now realize if Roy becomes available, the Squeagles will run interference. Their WR hole is as big or bigger than ours. They also have ammo in the form of draft picks and a vet CB they want to unload. Let the bidding war begin.

5. Stocking up the bar and frig for the upcoming rollercoaster ride, it's gonna be wild.

I hope we at least give Glenn a chance in Training Camp.

If he can squeeze one more year out of that knee I would do cartwheels.
