What I mean is that I am hoping we get some coaches who can bring a mean streak kind of aitude to the Cowboys. Those who hae watched the Cowboys since day 1 like me know what I mean. We never seem to have that put them away mentality. I never look at our teams as having a killer instinct, not even close. I hope we weed out some players and get some mean freakin kick you face in type of players. We are soft.

i agree with you bud, thats what i would like to get jason taylor, he i think can help us like charles haley did, then if i could, i would possibly go after rex ryan or mike singletary as defensive coaches,

then i would find a super defensive backs coach, we need that for sure, a guy that can teach a defensive back to stay with the wr, cover him, and have some attitude about it,

The DC.com article mentioned Dennis Thurman, who has been with the Ravens for years, as a potential DB coach. No one plays with more attitude than they do.

Dennis Thurman is the DB Coach for the Ravens. Love for him to come home.

Ronnie Lott mentioned him in his HOF Speech.

"To Dennis Thurman, Dennis Thurman you helped me with my skills. You helped me become a better football player."

How about 37 INTs in 1981?

Interceptions Int Yds Avg TD
Everson Walls 11 133 12.1 0
Dennis Thurman 9 187 20.8 0
Michael Downs 7 81 11.6 0
Charlie Waters 3 21 7.0 0
Bob Breunig 2 8 4.0 0
Steve Wilson 2 0 0.0 0
Guy Brown 1 28 28.0 0
Benny Barnes 1 24 24.0 0
D. D. Lewis 1 0 0.0 0

I wish I could find the great poster of Thurman's Thieves. This was the only picture I could find.

I think Mickgreen had a great pic on his old site. You might want to PM him and see if he has it.

I agree we are soft and we also are immature.

Unfortunately though, like most issues, it starts at the top. Wade by nature is just not a tough, demanding personality. He's happy to be in the
"Elite 8". Jerry needs to remind him this isn't March Madness.

I especially want a tough DB coach, our guys play off and soft coverage which IMO needs to change. I remember an article last year, about Todd Bowels (sp :)) where Roy and maybe a few other secondary would be upset if he didn't get the DC job. Makes you wonder if they wanted Bowels because he was easy/soft on them and not really because he was the best person for the job.
