As i was going over the schedule right before the start of the season i had the cowboys going 10-6. Maybe the cowboys are exactly the team i thought they would be. they won a couple i had them losing (Ind,ATL) and also lost a couple i had them winning (Eagles and NO in dallas) but other than that the season has gone about as expected. In August i was exited about the possible playoff appearance and im not going to lose my exitment about it now that its a reality.

I agree that reaching the playoffs is being lost because of the poor play as of late. Myself I don't think it is too late to turn things around and get on a roll.

Sweet user name and well said . If you had told any Dallas fan out there that the Cowboys would finish the year 10-6 with a playoff birth , they would have taken it and run . If you had told Dallas fans at the beginning of the season that this team would beat the Colts to snap their winning streak , beat the Panthers on the road , and beat the Giants on the road in December , most would have said you were crazy . I don't know what more people expected , but if it was more then this , then it was unrealistic !

At the start of the year I would not be upset with a 10-6 record (once again we have to see if we beat the lions which is not an automatic the way we have been playing of late).

However one thing has to be noted, it is not so good when you start off fast and than start to struggle towards the end of the season.

Personally I would rather have a team start off slow and than catch fire when it counts.

No matter the record right now, we are not playing good football, as a whole team, right now.

The expectations were changed when they beat Indy, Panthers and Giants. No one thought it would happen.

I had them at 9-7 and was hoping for 10-6. I think we all got caught up in how well they were playing during Romomania, it was easy to do. Most of my frustration is at the lack of defense, having pretty well ignored the offense in the draft the last 5 years one would think they would be better then they are right now. Especially when you consider that Dallas is one of the healthiest teams in the NFL

True.

I had us 10-6/9-7 when the season started too. But if I knew we were 8-4 and had a two game lead with 4 games left and then blew a chance at a bye and the division by getting waxed by the Saints and Eagles at home down the stretch, then i wouldn't be thrilled to be right about our record.

Yep, and I am sure others have pointed it out multiple times, we always seem to slow down towards the end of the season.

I had thoughts of 11-5 to 10-6.

The diffeence being that I thought we would have a top 5 defense, but I was afriad of Bledsoe running the offense into the ground. Tho the "D" would carry us.

We got to where I thought we would be, just by a totally different road.

Im not blind to the fact that the cowboys arent playing their best football right now, im just trying to keep my head up and hope they can turn it around. no one thought they were going anywhere when they were sitting at 3-3 but they went on a bit of a run, hopefully they can start another run this sunday.

That always makes me fell better LOL

Not to change subjects, but i just saw Danzig last month and since his new Bass player is Steve Zing from Samhain they played a few Samhain songs and then during the encore Doyle came out and they played a couple Misfits songs. All 3 of Glenns bands in one show, priceless

I liked the Misfits, never really listened to Samhain much.

My biggest disappointments are a result of how we've played in BIG games at home with so much on the line. No excuse for getting owned like we have at home. Prior to the season, I picked us go to 11-5 with an outside shot at 12-4. Had we just won the Washington game like we should have, 11-5 and a division would be staring us right in the face. I thought we'd sweep Washington and split with N.Y. and Philly. We got our split with N.Y., though the locations of the win and loss were different from what I expected. I also thought we'd beat Jacksonville to start the season. Once again, we should have won that game, but Bledsoe took care of that. I thought we'd either lose to Indy or Tampa at home, but Tampa fell off a LOT from last year. The bottom line is that this team has underachieved terribly in my opinion and I think most of the blame falls on the coaching staff.

Same here, in regards to the defense. As much potential as they showed last year, I thought with added experience from our first and second year defensive players they would be the strength of this team. Bledsoe starting is the one thing I felt would/could hold us back.

But either most of our first round and first day picks on defense the last few years were over rated, or there of problems higher up *cough...ZIMMER!...cough*.

Either way this defense, especially the last month has been a huge disappointment. So has the fact we still haven't filled that FS spot, which we've known was a problem for several years.

Why does this continue to happen season after season after season under Parcells? I have the golden ticket for you if you can answer this. It baffles me...
