After being benched for the last three days, I appreciate what Sean Lee is going through. I come back today humbled but ready to play.
How do you think Lee feels? I think he's humbled at that fact that the defense is playing better without him, but being a competitor I think he is chomping at the bit to put the rookie on the bench. I don't think we can expect a Romoesque, Meritocracy speech , do you?

I still love me some Snake Lee. I think its up to our coaches to work him in. LVE and Jaylon are ballers now, Lee is the wiley old vet who brings the experience and game day knowledge. There's a place for Lee its just not in the starting line up.

I'm sure he has mixed feelings. One one hand I think he's happy about winning and taking pride in his role in the development of Jaylon and LVE. On the other hand, he's got to feel melancholy about seeing the handwriting on the wall.

How can our indomitable coach get benched? We need you to lead us to the big game.

no. lb's are brought in and out of games as a matter of course.. qb's aren't. he'll get his reps. but no way lve or Jaylon get benched.

Gotta put pride aside and ask what is better for the team. That is if you put the overall performance of the team first.

Depends on if he wants to take a backseat and keep playing football and be a mentor and knowledge base. Not like he won't see the field at all anyway. Comes across as the type that will do just that but who knows.

Why do so many ASSUME that Sean Lee starting means LVE or Jaylon is benched?

LVE is more than capable of moving over to the strong side in our base defense, and having Sean play as a rotation player in the Nickel is NOT a bad thing.

I swear some of the fans live and die by drama alone.

....Lee must know, that its best to not mess with the Mojo that's working.

he could be a starter in 3lb sets

Lee has earned his starting spot when he's healthy. LVE has earned a starting spot with his play.

If our coaches are worth anything, they have a plan for LVE to play the SAM when Lee is on the field in our base package.

Not really understanding why he can't just replace Damien Wilson.
He can for a lot of downs, d.wilson has decent speed....not sure lee can match any more

And yet we saw the skins iso on Wilson for a 60 yard plus Td....teams will look for a weakness, just as we did in Eli apple

IF you watched Wolf Hunters interview after the Saints game, he gave a significant amount of praise to Lee for his quick growth and success. Smith also has said the same thing in the past. I'm not so sure that LVE is that effective without Lee's coaching and support much let Smith. They would get there eventually but Lee accelerated their growth. I think Lee (being the gamer he is) is more proud than humbled to be in the position he's currently in.
