I know I'm in the minority, but:

I thought he was horrible. I see no potential in this guy, wouldn’t keep him on the practice squad either. Put Terrell on it.

I think Bartel should make the team. He did a solid job last night with few feature players in personnel packages. He reminds me of Derek Anderson in size and ability. It's clear that he has an NFL arm.

IF we go to the season with BJ as the backup, I really believe that a season ending injury to Romo ends our Super Bowl hopes regardless. We have two years invested in Bartel. Has he done anything to prove he can't play in the league yet? In my mind I don't think so. If anything I think he flashes some ability that Brad doesn't have anymore (mobility and an arm).

I would rather carry a third QB that knows the offense into the season than a marginal DB, LB (WR? lol I think we have to keep DA or MJ regardless at this point) that will get very little burn anyways. It took Tony three seasons to come full circle. Why should the Cowboys give up on Bartel? After all this is a franchise that won games with Quincy Carter at QB, is it not?

Food for thought: I live in Baltimore and visited camp when Derek Anderson started his career and he was TERRIBLE. That was three years ago. We are in year 2 of Bartel's development- we have an elite QB in Tony. I'd gamble the other way and keep Bartel around one more year and let him compete directly for the backup job next season or be gone. I think he's on the verge of getting it, I really do.

I think if nothing else, his play was a tribute to our offensive line.
