none other than our own WR Terrell Owens... He has been the firepower of the offense and is behaving great, much to the chagrin of some of the media outlets. TO is also making good on being the consummate teammate, playmaker, and now even leading the charge on the would be tacklers on Felix Jones long runs to the endzone the last few games.

I know Romo with all his weapons, ability, and some minimizing of mistakes could make for a contender to this spot. Furthermore, Tom Brady is out of the running this year due to his knee injury which in turn also makes Randy Moss a lot less dangerous as his numbers are also down this year.

What are some of your takes on this possibility, all injuries aside...

Um, I don't think so. Simply because an NFL WR has never been MVP. Not even Jerry Rice or Moss last season. Um, for some reason receivers don't get as many votes as qbs and backs do. Even if he puts up monstrous numbers I don't see T.O. winning anything other then leading the league in receiving. Especially if Romo puts up great numbers. With players like Manning and LT it's going to be difficult for T.O. or any reciever to win the mvp. Ofcourse you never know.

So he might have one end zone celebration too many??

Romo would get too many of TO's votes. But I think Romo has a real shot at it. And actually, I think you could make a very strong case that Jason Witten is this team's best player.

No argument here... Witten makes a lot of my watching Cowboy football easier by constantly converting those third downs.

I can't imagine a WR being the league MVP... then again, a kicker was the NFL MVP one year.

If I had a vote for MVP 3 weeks in, I'd have to give it to Phillip Rivers. But then it's hard to do that because they're 1-2.....thats why they don't hand out mvps through 3 weeks, I guess.

No, my brothers.

Witten is a gifted athlete and among the most valued.

But it comes down to T.O. or Romo, based on their abilities, as possible MVPs.

There is no way this is a thought process right now.

If a Bob Sanders can win it, who knows. And does it really even mean anything if a Bob Sanders can win it?

Sanders won DPOY.

Not MVP

it's so early, but i'm guessing by the end of the year, both Romo and Barber will be very serious MVP candidates.. if we continue this dominance, our best offensive players, stat wise, will be candidates.. so it makes sense that Romo and Barber will be up there..

if i were to look into my crystal ball, i'd guess these people will be candidates:

Tony Romo
Marion Barber
Donovan McNabb
Brian Westbrook
Adrian Peterson
Phillip Rivers
LaDainian Tomlinson
Jay Cutler
Peyton Manning (just cause he always is, and at some point he'll get it turned around)

I think TO will need 30 TD's and 2,500 receiving yards in order to get MVP.

Anytime a WR would be in consideration for MVP, their QB will probably end up winning it. If TO is being considered, Tony will win.

The heartbeat of this offense is Marion Barber.

I bet you guys who picked him up in Fantasy Football are loving him right now.
