It is a double edged sword. Part of the reason they are ranked so bad is because of the yardage the Eagles put up on them.
A fair argument, so how 'bout we look at what each of the Iggles' opponents gave up on average in their other games thus far this season??
49ers-- have given up 1382 yards in 4 games this year, 416 of that to the Iggles... that leaves them with 966 yards allowed against their other opponents, or 322.0 yards per game...
That would tie them for 17th in the league in total defense...
Giants-- have given up 1111 yards in 3 games this year, 451 of that to the Iggles... that leaves them with 660 yards given up to their other 2 opponents, or 330.0 yards per game...
That would rank them 18th in the NFL in total defense this week...
Packers-- have given up 1563 yards in 4 games this year, 398 of that to the Iggles... that leaves them with 1165 yards allowed to their other 3 opponents, or 387.7 yards per game...
That would rank them 29th in total defense...
Toxins-- have given up 1740 yards to their 4 opponents, 441 of that to the Iggles... that leaves them with 1299 yards given up to their other 3 opponents, or 433.0 yards per game...
That would still rank them last in the league in total defense...
So, even if you factor out the Iggles' offensive production in their games against those four, you still have 4 teams in the bottom half of the league in total offense, 2 of them in the bottom 4, including the league's worst defenses...
A little better, but they obviously haven't faced any good defenses yet...
