...Oliver Hoyte. He's a player. On my roster, we have 3 LB's vying for 2 positions, the LB's being Fowler, Glymph, and Hoyte. I'd try to trade Fowler for a pick if possible, and keep Glymph and Hoyte. Even if it came down to choosing between Glymph or Hoyte, I'd take Hoyte. I think he has powerful inside LB written ALL OVER HIM. I'd also try to sneak Glymph onto the practice squad because he flashed a few times during preseason.

Mark it down...Hoyte has the potential to turn into a valuable player for us in 1-2 years.

I don't think Glymph is not eligible for the practice squad. This is his third year.

no way glymph makes the final 53.

I take Glymph over Fowler. To be honest with you, we have alot of depth on the inside. Carpenter and Burnett are really inside guys. Glymp can back up Ellis.

Hoyte will make it over Glymph just due to the nature that BP is really impressed w/ him as a special teamer, I do think he has some potential, but sadly, it probably won't be fulfilled in Dallas

Burnett is 230 lbs (per Parcells order) and is backing up Ware at ROLB. He's not playing inside. That leaves Adyodele, James and Carp at ILB. To me that says Hoyte or Fowler sticks, and I think it's Hoyte because of his ST ability.

Agreed. Now that I think about it, I'd rather try to trade Fowler and keep Glymph in his place, because I think that Hoyte is a keeper.

Do you really see Parcells going with two green bananas at both backup inside linebacker? He really likes Fowler, I wonder if Boiman may be the odd man out since he hasn't shown much because of the broken hand.

I think Boiman has shown Parcells enough

Love to see Hoyte stick because he deserves it, and it will be especially nice to see another NC State defensive player make it in the NFL.

I have to interject. While I appreciate the fondness of a fan towards another player, I am just beside myself when I read a thread titled "I Like so and so". i dunno. Just reads as an "exiting of the armiore" and "I feel so much better" kinda gig........not that there's anything wrong with that.
I just need to make sure as to where I am and how was it that I am logged in. :)
Apologies. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
Nice thread, and by the way, I like Hoyte. :)

You make a good point about Boiman - As green as Hoyte is, I'm sure other teams are seeing the same thing I am - POTENTIAL. Sure, the "p" isn't worth much in a "show me" business, but sometimes you have to go on instinct. I watched Hoyte's special teams play against the 49ers and it was good. He is a hitter - which is a huge must for a LB. :) Seriously though, if Parcells likes Fowler that much then it could very well come down to Fowler vs. Boiman. I think Hoyte is going to develop into a very serviceable LB for some team in the NFL. Might as well be ours.

I would be very surprised if we didn't keep Boiman. Remember Cowboys signed him as a FA because he's a good ST & can play all LB positions so they must have liked what they saw. So I think Cowboys will go with Ware/Ayodele/James/Ellis (he'll also be playing some DE on occasion) & Burnett/Carpenter/Singleton/Boiman. Cowboys probably will go with 9 LBs if they can & it will come down to Fowler & Hoyte. Parcells like Fowler but also sounds like he impressed with Hoyte. Final game on Thursday nite will be big for both players; one of them could be traded before that game or shortly before next cut. I wouldn't want to bet anything on what Parcells will do but it might easily be based on which player has biggest upscale. Would also like keep Glymph but can he be put on ST as 3rd year player? We are loaded at LB & see easily at least one trade involving either Hoyte, Glymp or Fowler.

BTW: What did we end up getting for Shanle? Has there been any official word & I don't count the newspapers as official.

Burnett plays inside on the nickel. His future is on the inside. He's not really big enough now to be a full-time outside guy but he can spare Ware from time to time.
