I Like The Kicker Pick. Anyone Else With Me?

Think about it... we had a whole bunch of picks today. This was a compensation pick.. A big weakness last season for us was opponent starting position.. Also see Arizona game.

Everyone was venting how our ST sucked, and how we'll miss killa.

Now we have a touchback specialist (maybe for onside kicks too)? and automatically helps our opponent avg starting position.. Most likely this player picked here wouldn't contribute anyway.

Slate loves it!

I think it has the potential to improve our team right away...can't bash that too much..

The first kick where he doesn't have a touchback I'm saying "I told you so" and it will be a complete waste of a pick. He better have 100% TB efficiency.

Just curious Slate, who should we have picked in that spot instead of Buehler?

What if he causes a fumble on that non TB kick?

I think it was a great pick because feild position is critical and we obviously struggled in that arena last year. Our special teams coverage was horrid. The more he boots the kickoffs in the endzone, the less we have to worry about the other team starting on the 35.

I'd like to see us get better on kickoffs, but we really need to get better on covering punts.

Most people hate to hear this, but it shows where McBriar's one-dimensional attributes hurt us. If he could kickoff and placehold like a lot of punters, I'd feel a lot better about our special teams.

Dead on point!!!!

Simple fact is our special teams needs help. If this is what it takes I am all for it.
