I love the gun slinger in Rush

He plays like he has nothing to lose (and technically, he doesn’t. Only to gain the starting job). So he slings it any which way he can, which pays off more often than not. Almost like an Aaron Rodgers lite. I may be going too far here, but I see his gun slinging qualities as similar to Rodgers. He may not have as much accuracy as him, but he’s got some qualities of him.

makes sense McCarthy also coaches better with Rush as he’s more similar to his old QB being Rodgers.

He is so comfortable in this offense right now and is playing with real confidence.

He’s decisive and doesn’t throw into a crowd very often.

He gets the ball out quickly and takes what the D gives him, even if it’s a 2 yard checkdown on 2nd and 6. I’m okay with those plays, especially when we’re tied or winning. Keep moving the ball and set up a 3rd and manageable.

He also isn’t afraid to go deep if he sees single coverage. He got screwed by 2 drops on deep shots tonight, by Lamb and Tolbert.

He hasn’t lit it up by any stretch of the imagination, but he’s playing like a solid QB who understands his limitations.

He’s 3-0 because he’s been clutch and has complemented our defense nicely. I also wonder if having a backup QB in there has forced Kellen Moore to be smarter/more balanced in his calls.

Keep it up, Rush!!!

He’s now 3-0 as a starter, it’s hard to argue against a winner. If Dak comes back and plays like he did week one this is going to get interesting. After all it was Dak himself that took advantage of Romos injury to win the starting spot.

Rush and this team reminds me of the Trent Dilfer and the Ravens that won a super bowl. Our D can keep us in games and Cooper can make enough throws to win without making dumb mistakes and turnovers.

To be fair those deep shots were set up by a dominating running game. They were able to force the Giants to focus on the run which gave them some better matchups on the outside.

I was more impressed with his ability to read the field and get the ball out quickly and accurately.

Question for people, when Dak returns and another team comes calling for Rush, what do you think Dallas could get in trade for Rush? Again I am not advocating trading Rush just wondering what Dallas could get for him?

I don't consider Rush a gunslinger. That was Tony Romo. I do think understanding what you are looking at and quickly processesing information, making good decisions based on that information. then distributing the ball where it needs to be, is an under-rated skill.

He is bus driver. Just because you throw a few deep balls doesnt make you a gunslinger. If your going with the true definition.
I don't view Rush as a gunslinger, but he's aggressive when opportunities present themselves. Right now I'd say he's a winner more than any other label.
