He gave some motivational talk of some sort.

They raffled off a signed jersey of his.

The kid that won it already had the jersey he was wearing signed.

Gotta put my own experience here fwiw...
I lived in Pensacola around 1995. I was a huge Emmitt fan, and he came to Pensacola to his family’s card shop to sign autographs during the team’s break. I brought my 9 year old son and his friend for autographs from the hometown “hero”. First of all...we had to buy a photograph or card to be signed, which was expected I guess.but once we got up there,.. he almost totally ignored us. He talked to some other guy the whole time and barely acknowledged my son or his friend at all (or me), He did let us take a picture, but it was the ONLY time he looked up at all. It was so disappointing and made me really rethink my “hero’s”. I still love Emmitt for his contribution to the team...but he IS NOT a good guy.
