I work out at Randolph AFB gym and was talking to this friend of mine as we always do.....B.S. etc.
Today, I asked him what he thought about Hardy getting 10 games suspension......he leaned over and whispered to me that Hardy is his Sister's son.......wow......small world
He stated that Hardy believes he has a chance to lower the 10 games to 4.
Also, he said Hardy is extremely excited to be a Dallas Cowboy and Hardy told him personally, that his goal is to earn a long term deal to stay in Dallas.
Anyhow, I was excited to hear that statement......hope it is true........anyhow, just thought I would share it.
Thanks for the info CC. Like someone has already said: coming from you I have no doubt that you had that conversation with his uncle.
I'm pretty sure his suspension will be lowered a good bit, (4 would be nice) and frankly, it should be.
And really, I don't know how people worry about Hardy going elsewhere next season. If Hardy doesn't get in any more trouble, and if he plays like we all expect him to... Dallas will keep him.
I guess fans are worried because Murray left (even though Dallas really liked him) and Bruce Carter, Durant, etc. left. Those are completely different situations though.
Dallas isn't going to pay big for a RB, period. Edge rusher is a position that the Cowboys will have zero problems paying big dollars to (heck they already are per game). Great pass rushers are extremely difficult to find... RB's are decidedly not.
Bruce Carter would have gotten paid in Dallas if he had played well enough consistently enough for the team to want to keep him. Honestly, once Marinelli benched him in favor of Wilber and Hitchens... I knew Dallas wasn't going to pay him.
Durant was a position where Dallas isn't going to pay a lot of money, so even though the Cowboys liked him, he was in the same boat as Murray.
What kills me is when people act like Dallas was out of money and so they couldn't sign Murray, Durant, Carter and Harris. They could have made deal with them with no problem... they just chose not to. They want to allot their money in different spots or for different players. They will pay DE's, QB's, WR, OL, CB and a 3T DT... but they're not going to pay a returner, LB, and RB big.
It is just the way they are doing business now. Lucky for Hardy, DE is a spot they'll pay at so If Dallas wants Hardy, they'll sign him. You can bet Hardy wants a long term deal here. Even if Dallas wasn't the team who believed in him enough to sign his through this difficult time... Dallas is one of the premiere franchises in all of professional sports and as long as Dallas is close on the money, he will love to stay... and like I've already said, Dallas will have no problem shelling out the money for a top edge rusher.
