I miss that guy. Solid vet . The interior Oline is garbage without him. Another brilliant move by Jerry.

ok internet tuff guy.

I do agree that releasing Gurode was a mistake.

I don't understand why this is all on one side here. They did want to keep him if he'd agree to restructure his deal from the 5 million (I believe that was the total) he was supposed to make this year, which he had not played up to making that kind of money for a season.

It's not like they just out right cut him just to get rid of him they did so because he refused to re-do his deal to a more suitable number for the level he'd been playing at for a couple of years.

Is he getting 5 or 6 million this season from the team who signed him?

Unless the money would have handicapped us, I don't see why it matters. People say all the time we shouldn't care what Free or any other player is making and that we can always make moves to free up more cash, so the money shouldn't have been the primary reason for his release.

Why anyone would be shocked that an UDFA isn't performing at the level of a 5 time pro bowler though, is beyond me.

It doesn't make any difference to me because *GASP* it's not my money.

So i couldn't care less, ever, what they pay a player.

But heres the kicker here. I don't run the team. It's not my money and it's really easy for me to sit on my couch at home and say "I don't care. Pay whatever!"

For the people paying the bills, and making the decisions, his play did not warrant paying him 5 million this year. That is their right as it's their money.

Even though I do think Gurode is better than Costa at this point in time, I don't miss Gurode.

I miss Stepnoski!

So what you're saying is that Jerry is broke. :laugh2:

Not at all. But way to put words in my mouth that weren't even remotely hinted at.

Or maybe that laughing was meant as a joke about him being broke. I don't know. Bad weekend so I can't tell really what you're laughing at here. Sorry.

I don't miss Gurode one bit. He is really not tearing it up in Baltimore and hopefully Jerry can use the money saved, to improve this team next year.

Agreed. Did we not have the same issues with running the ball and pass protection WITH Gurode on the line? I think we did. i know we did. That isn't the reason we lost last night or in any of our losses.

Garrett is more than likely the one who chose to cut him. You have no idea if Gurode would be playing any better since he was out of shape and battling a knee injury. Another not so brilliant blame Jerry for everything post.

Just saying watching Andre in Baltimore isn't much better. Even though he is play LG he is a backup on a pretty bad line.

I hear ya.

It was just a bad weekend and for more reasons than the Cowboys playing so piss poor last night.

My bad.

I live in BMore & watch the Ravens weekly. I have been focusing closely on Gurode and he looks like CRAP. He is barely effective in run blocking and he has nearly gotten Flacco killed about about a 6-7 times PER GAME. Flacco is playing on skates and his numbers show it. Cowboys made the absolute right call in releasing Gurode.
