Exactly right...and even in the late years, he still was bringing it, look how much he set Roy free....

And protected the CBs, and kept the defense focused, etc.

There's no lack of what he gave the team.

Darren was one of the greatest to ever don the star. Even the last two years he was probably the 3rd or 4th best safety in the league. He was still better than Roy. He also played hurt factor that in. Also, knowledge is power and he had a lot of that.
