Currently my computer will not connect to the internet in normal mode but it will connect to the internet in safe mode.

My Wifi still works and my Xbox internet still works.

I have done the diagnose and repair on the network connection and it didn't fix it either. I've also restarted and unplugged my router and had no success.

I have ran virus scans, malware scans, and nothing has fixed this.

I haven't downloaded any new software either so i'm just frustrated at this point and wanted to see if anyone on here has had a problem like this before and knows a fix.

It happened to me once. I don't know much about computers but someone told me to restore the computer to a previous point. It worked but I don't know why or how.

You said you did not add any software but does that include Windows updates? Sometimes they will be an update for your ether net drivers and once it installs your ether net stops working.

You need to get the hardware device section in Windows and see if your ether net card has a Yellow sign with an!. If it does right click go into properties and select roll back driver

Yeah the uninstall reinstall is first option. I would grab the manufacturer of the wireless adapter off the device list and search that and the malfunction on the internet. Look at the properties (tabs) see if there is any more info there to help.

If you have no critical data to lose then roll back your computer to a restore point if all else fails. I'd try shutting the computer down, then the router and modem/cable box yada. Restart your internet feed then router then computer. If that fails connect your computer via CAT5 st8 to the internet connection and restart it then the computer first. Then try messing with drivers or restore points. Check your device manager like BP said first of all though.

Thanks guys. Im sorry for the late response...

My firewall was the problem. I have Comodo Dragon and for some reason when the Firewall is enabled I can't access the internet.

Does anyone know what I could do to keep my firewall on and still have internet?

There should be a setting, like low, medium, high. Honestly, if you have even just a basic router, a software firewall is probably useless.

Thanks guys. My windows firewall was already ON and I turned on my comodo firewall so I had 2 firewalls going at 1 time.

I completely forgot that I had turned in on and this was the problem the whole time.
