You may or may not agree.
The sky isn't falling.
I just need to vent.

This committee running back trend is killing me. It's going on all over the NFL and the Cowboys are the worst case. Just because you have 3 good backs, doesn't mean you have to use all 3. It takes a repetition and rhythm to get a running game/runningback going, IMO. As soon as Barber gets going... he's out. As soon as Felix Jones racks up 2 nice carries... sidelined. These backs are also NOT the same guy/style. They're each running plays that may be better suited for the "other" back at any given time. It's ridculous.

I guarantee each of those backs hates sharing the load and rightfully so. Not because they're selfish... because they know as soon as they start feeling it, they'll be swapped. And the calls are not playing to their strengths, respectively.

I agree that it's a little much. I think you need a back to get into a groove.

All I want to do is run to Garret's house, smack him in his dumb Princeton head, and say GIVE THE FREIKING BALL TO FELIX

When is Felix going to be given a shot to prove he can be a full time RB? He averaged over 5 yards a touch tonight and got 10 touches. Unreal, 3 years later and JG still has figured out to get him more involved.

JG's offense has no identity!!!

Agreed. This coaching staff treats the game like it's Pop Warner where everyone needs to be allowed to play and touch the ball.

The way they misuse Felix is absolutely criminal. One of the most dynamic players in the NFL and he's being hamstrung by Garrett.

I'm a believer that we need to be running the ball more often as well...I love Tony's abilities, but tonight was a close game and we threw 48 times and ran 23.

When the run would just start working all of a sudden a screen would be thrown in there for minimal game or a loss.

I do believe that we could have AP or Chris Johnson on this team and we would be using them the same way we are our RB's.

I would love to see how Felix would do if he were with TN.....he's a threat that STILL has yet to be unleashed.

Uhh....I thought we ran the ball very effectively today. That was the one part of our offense I was please with...

We did...just went away from it at the wrong time, just to then put us in a throwing situation.

The screen to RW that lost us a yard killed some good runs up to that point.

Keep doing it till they stop you....set-up the play-action fake.

Didn't run enough to set that up. 8 rushes each for MBIII and FJ.

We need to run MORE! We can satisfy all 3 RBs and use them effectively if we just ran the ball more. 22 carries is unacceptable. This team should be running it 30 times minimum.

It's a given- Jones is the best back for playmaking and speed. He should be starting and getting the lion's share. It's silly to not involve him in the passing game and screen plays.

Barber is an excellent, patient and powerful runner who deserves touches in situations where he excels- Lead sustaining drives, goalline.

Choice- a good backup. The end. Shouldn't be played unless one of the 2 backs is out.

I don't have a problem with the approach to distributing the carries. The whole idea that you need to have a workhorse is a complete myth in my opinion. The Cowboys on a ypc basis are as effective of a running team as you'll find. Tonight wasn't really any different, gashing the Commanders for 4.7 yards a carry. I'll take that any day of the week.

The problem is that we didn't run enough for a team that looked afraid to test its offensive line in pass protection.

God The Ticket is making sense right now. Saying the same thing I've been saying here.

Miles, Witten and Felix Jones are your football team/playmakers. Quit worrying about hurting everyone else's feelings and force it to these guys.

Fix the O-line and it won't be an issue.

After watching most of the games across the league today I just cannot believe how many teams have bought into the time share running back plan. It's excessive now. Other than half a dozen "studs" nobody cracks 20 freakin carries anymore. Start a guy and run him into the ground, that's what you have back ups for, and if he goes down you go to the next guy and the next guy. Barber I thought did well, other than the one run for a yard where he should have cut back up inside. He could have taken 20 carries tonight easily. Felix too. Pick one and rock it all game.

Felix Jones touched the ball 10 times and had 64 yards, in a must win game for Dallas, imo.

That is 6.4 YPT.

Mark my words.

If this trend continues, these coaches will get fired.

8 carries

8

Unacceptable...

When is this going to end?

The Chargers game taught the dumb coaches nothing, I guess.

The ball was in the air 47 times tonight.

Barber looked liked he was about to get a big one, but some idiot coach called a timeout.

Barber and Jones were averaging just a slight hair under 5.0 YPC.

16 combined carries (8 for Jones and 8 for Barber)

Felix Jones is one of the most talented players in the NFL, and the way he has been used in Dallas should embarrass the Dallas coaching staff. It will get them fired if it continues. Mark my words. Jones can be and should be the difference for the Cowboys.

What a waste of talent...

Chris Johnson, who may weigh a buck 93, carried the ball 27 times today, and the Titans ran him too much today. He took some hits today that Fisher shouldn't have had him take, when the game was out of hand. The Raiders had Johnson bottled up until he ripped off a 74 yard TD. The Titans kept feeding him the ball.

What a joke.

Jones can't even get 15 carries in a game.

I guess that Eagles playoff game didn't really matter to Dallas' dumb coaches.

Add Dez to that mix and a little bit of Barber and I agree.

It's so frustrating to have a player as talented as Felix Jones and see him not used nearly enough.

The coaches act like he's a luxury when Jones should be their life, a huge part of the heart and soul of the offense.

Jerry Jones wants Jones touching the ball 20 times a game. I heard him on the radio. That could be 15 carries and 5 passes.

Chris Johnson gets to actually get the ball, and he's in a perfect zone running scheme for him. Jones is lucky to get it 8 times in Dallas and doesn't have the luxury of the zone blocking scheme. Garrett does some nice things with him, but he will not use him nearly enough.

Only the Dallas coaches can pull this trick, imo.

The Titans wanted to draft Jones over Johnson.

Jones is a better pass blocker than Johnson (IMO). I've watched them both. Johnson does well for his size and has improved; however, Jones is a better pass blocker.

You know what, though.

The Titans didn't draft Johnson to pass block, they drafted him to be a major weapon in their offense.

Dallas has Jones, but doesn't use him nearly enough.

That wouldn't bode well for Johnson on this pass happy team, imo.

In my opinion, Barber and Choice would be sucking carries away from Johnson, too.

These coaches just don't get it.

It is going to get them fired if they don't watch it, imo.

Jason Garrett is Jerry Jones' guy.

Again, Jerry Jones wants the ball in Jones' hands, and it's not getting there.

Our sorry coaches can't even take a knee on their 37 yard line, with 04 seconds on the clock... In a 3-0 game...Thanks to our kicker..

0-1

Felix 20 carries a game

Why even mess with MBIII - I tired of his jumping up like he just made a big play when he has made nothing

It should be Felix then Choice

then Barber in as clean up man

Gronk even carries the ball better he got 8 yards

MBIII had 4.9 ypc but he wasnt getting the ball either. JG just refuses to run the ball. He has to know RT is a big question, why not run the ball vs a team that has no offense to help your RT out?

His game plan is 48 passes to 23 runs when we are running almost at will. Brilliant game plan and even better feel for the game.

Dallas had 22 carries, and Jones got 8.

The coaches are guilty of malpractice, imo.

That is unacceptable!

I think the Dallas coaches have mishandled Jones so badly, they deserve to be fired if this continues. These coaches have a whole lot of explaining to do, imo. It is sickening to watch as a fan. They may have very well thrown a bye away tonight, imo.

This coaching staff has mishandled Felix Jones since his rookie year, and it hasn't stopped. They didn't run him enough in 2008, and I wonder if Jones' hamstring injury was due to the fact that the coaches were not using him consistently, never mind not giving him the ball nearly enough.

Commanders - 0 carries Bengals- He at least gets the ball a little bit and has a big game. Cardinals- he doesn't start getting it until the second half. Jones wasn't used to just standing around while watching the game. Then, the Dallas trainers got a hold of him...

It's going on year three, and this crap continues.

Jason Garret simply refuses to allow Jones to live up to his potential and put this team over the top. Wade Phillips... Just watches. I blame him, too. Do something... I think Wade Phillips carries blame, too.

The Titans head scout (C.O. Brocato), one of the most famous scouts of all time, stated that he thought Jones was a tough inside runner and could carry the load.

In Dallas, he gets 8 carries in a money game for Dallas.

Wow..

I still can't believe how incredibly dumb this coaching staff is when it comes to # 28.

Dallas would have won 12 games last year if # 28 gets the ball last year against the Chargers. I guess his 51 yards on 10 carries didn't impress them in that game. In a game where possessions were gold, Jones gets 10 bloody carries.

This team stupidly wonders why it's can't score in the redzone.

Until Jones becomes a priority in this offense, Dallas will continue to struggle in the redzone, imo.

Dallas punted twice between the Washington 35 and 40, and they never made an attempt to get Jones the ball.

I'm am so upset about this situation, because it really isn't asking much of your coaching staff..

Get the football to your best offensive weapons.

Miles Austin
Jason Witten
Dez Bryant
Felix Jones

Felix Jones is a purple player, and the Cowboys will not give him the bloody football enough, so he can turn blue.
