Why in every game when the offense has a long drive, do you always hear the defense is getting tired out? I always though this made no sense since the offense is on the field the same amount of time as the defense in those drives. How come in our game, the offense is the one who crapped the bed and died out from fatigue?

Honestly-I don't buy it. Or maybe the Giants adjusted, and we couldn't counter it?

Like I said-I don't buy this theory at all, as I've heard it for the very first time. When our DFW talk radio guys starting babbling about it, I just crapped the bed.

Defense has to run more. Particularly the D-Line. On a long drive you're likely to have some pass plays, so the D-Line has to rush the passer, then chase the receiver who just caught the ball. On the flip side, the O-Line pretty much just has to pass block for a second and their job is done.

YAKUZA

Because defenses generally are expending more energy reacting to the plays. We just let Giants off the hook. We didn't score enough TD's when we were close.

It takes more effort to react than it does to act.

It is ironic we had those long drives and ended up being the ones who got worn down in the 4th quarter. It is almost always the defense that gets tired. Just our luck.

But was it worn down...or exposed ?

Tough call.

Maybe losing Garrett won't be a bad thing if it happens.

The offensive line is usually leaning on the defensive line and linebackers. That is what wears them down.

Neither.

It was stupid players making stupid mistakes.

The general reason this is assumed is because play clock eating drives usually consist of a alot of run play's. They say it is less tiresome for the OL to hit and drive your oppenent for a few seconds while the RB hits the hole then it is for a OL to have to backpeddal be the one getting hit and sustain your block(s) for a longer time.

that being said i truly agree with you and i feel that not only did our line wear down in the 2nd half(4th quarter espcially) but barber did as well.

Besides the stupid part, I agree.

Mistakes made outside of the plays called are outside of the coaches hands, sometimes.
