concerning our beloved Patrick Crayton, well I was thumbing through Pro Football Weekly's, Fantasy Football Guide the other day, and I was reading about the Wrs, and I saw the knock on Crayton where it said that the staff was losing patience w/ Crayton as the '07 season wore on because of his, "lack of concentration and attitude"

interesting, that could explain him receiving less looks late in the year, that, and Romo's reliance on Witten and TO

Parcells said that Crayton was a guy who always needed to be prodded

flame away

Yet they decided to give him a 5-year extension and a $5M signing bonus - actions speak louder than alleged words.

We resigned Romo during the bye week. Believe we resigned Crayton later in the season.

Cowboys | Crayton signs four-year extension

The Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys WR Patrick Crayton has signed a four-year contract extension worth up to $14 million, according to his agent. Crayton will receive $6 million in guaranteed money.

According to Patrick Crayton’s agent, Frederick Lyles, Patrick Crayon has signed a 4 year deal with the Cowboys. The deal is worth up to $14 million. He also said that Crayton will receive $6million in guaranteed money.
“He could have easily secured more money on the open market,” Lyles said. “But his family is here. His wife and child and mother and siblings, they all live in Dallas. He was more concerned about not uprooting his family.”

The Cowboys did not re-sign Patrick Crayton to keep him away from Bill Parcells in Miami. It was just silly talk to think Crayton would have been interested in going to the Dolphins - he has been one of the more vocal Parcells' dissenters in the locker room - and Parcells has a lot more things to fix in Miami than signing a guy he has openly said is a No. 3 receiver.

it's PFW, they're a pretty good source for information

I'm not aiming at the messenger Bob but I'm always skeptical of those who think that they're inside a players head. Regardless of the time of year.

Well, many people say that Parcells was a guy that needed his over-blown ego petted, but who's keeping score.
Crayton is a good and smart player.

Since it was proven they rewarded him with a new contract in late December I would think its not such a good source, at least from their fantasy guys.

all I know is that Pat disappeared late in the year, wasn't looked to, and Bill mentioned before that focus was an issue for him

All I know is I'm not going to give a 14 million dollar contract extension with 6 million of it guaranteed to a player that I'm losing patience with because of his lack of concentration and attitude.

If this part is true, I'm betting it happened in 2008, after the extension. Never the less, i hear you. Pat has to step up his game and shut down his mouth and let his hard work and production do his talking this year or he could be 2009 draft day fodder.

Last I heard you were wishing ill on people already dead.
Now you are just clueless.
The extension came in mid-season. Or, rather, late season.
At any rate well before the esteemed Crayton did a Randy Moss and took off a play.

There goes your position as source for Pro Football Weakest's fantasy mailbag.

If anyone lost patience with Crayton, this would be the first we heard of it. And I don't expect he'd be going around in the off season saying he had no intention of shutting his mouth if anyone on the coaching staff had suggested otherwise.
