Move Henry to safety unless we really have to. IMO Henry was playing AT or NEAR a pro bowl level before he got injured. Not that I dont think he could play safety, I do, in fact I think he could be great back there. He has some experience from his Cleveland days. Its just that I think he and Newman could form a lockdown corner duo that could shine even more with a good passrush. Im a firm believer in .".IF it isnt broke dont fix it", and Henry has the makings of a star at the corner position. Lets just do what we should have done years ago and draft a safety high. That and sign a vet to mentor him.

If we are somehow able to sign a certain veteran cornerback, then I'm all for moving Henry to safety. ;)

I think it would be a waste to move him as well, when he is in the prime of his career. Move him back there in a few years when he starts to lose a step.

I am of the opinion (and most of my opinions are considered to be Gods) that we should sign Vinny Testaverde to a 10 year deal and convert him to FS

I agree, to a point. Im a little lukewarm on Law due to his age and the dough he's gonna want. BUT, if we could bring him in on say a two year CAP FRIENDLY deal then YES I would be all for signing him and moving Henry to corner. Having said that.....I still dont think were gonna be signing Law though...

Yes it's definitely a longshot because of his agents and their history of shady dealings....but I have a gut feeling that something big is cooking at valley ranch.....expect the unexpected.

Also didn't JJ say he's not drafting a FS on day one? I just can't believe he and parcells would feel confident with the misfits currently on this roster, davis included if he's resigned.

This Henry at FS thing gets blown out of proportion. He might have played some that year, but he was playing a lot of cornerback his rookie year as well.

Henry is a very good cornerback. I think he could also be a very good saftey though. I have wondered if playing safety might be a little easier on him because of his body type. It might actually make him an even better player...

Regardless, he's not moving unless a very good corner comes along. Until that happens, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Henry didn't play all that well last year. I think people's opinions are somewhat influenced by the scrap heap players that were trotted out there the year before and a few big plays he made early but overall he was more in the "average" range than "pro bowl" range.

Making too much sense, here.

Henry is not a fast guy and that hurts him under the new strict rules interpretation. He was making plays early in the season, but I never trusted him deep like I grew to trust Newman. Henry returned a pick for a TD, but didn't he also give up a TD vs. Arizona? I think he's a solid player but as he gets older I think FS will preserve his effectiveness. His ab pull might have been a fluke or it may have been the result of a DB hitting his late 20's.

jason allen in the third, with insurance in marcus coleman. dont get me wrong, he is going to fall to the 80th pick, hip injuries are a big deal for a DB.

btw, we have 4 SS's on our roster, our only true FS is pile, who is a special teamer and i would shoot myself if he started for us. bring in coleman and draft my boy J. Allen.

Jason Allen

JASON ALLEN MEASURABLES Height: 6-0
fraction_7-8.gif
Weight: 213 40-yard dash: 4.39 10-yard dash: 1.46 20-yard shuttle: 3.81 60-yard shuttle: 11.17 Broad jump: 10-11 225-lb. bench: 17 3-cone drill: 6.75 Vertical jump: 39
fraction_1-2.gif
Wonderlic: 20-yard dash: 2.52

Strengths: Is a playmaker who uses his long arms, leaping ability and strength to win jump balls and take away passes. Plays well against the run and in coverage. Has decent speed, good burst and great ball skills. Is tall and smooth and can turn and run with receivers. Fills the hole hard against the run, tackles well in the open field and uses his size to make big hits. Excels at redirecting receivers at the line of scrimmage. Is comfortable playing in the tackle box. Can shed blockers.

Weaknesses: A dislocated hip ended his senior season, raising questions about his durability. Is a bit of a ’tweener; lacks elite speed to play cornerback. Must improve at open-field tackling and playing in space to become an elite safety. Lacks great pre-snap recognition. Relies too much on his athletic ability in coverage.
Bottom line:
Allen has a lot of potential and projects highly as both a cornerback and safety. However, his hip injury prevented him from playing in all-star games. His ability is unquestioned, and he was a first-round prospect before the injury. He now must prove he is the player he was in 2004. He is worth the risk late in the third round.

A CB giving up a TD?

I think that happens on a regular basis.
