My friend and i (he's an Eagles fan) were watching Zeke just shred defenses. We both were in awe. I would jokingly say watch out Dallas is going to get him on day knowing we weren't ever going to pick high enough. And he would jokingly say yeah ok you wish.

This is my favorite pick since Dez Bryant. Not because it's splishy splashy, the Claiborne pick was more of a splash cause we actually gave things up to get that bum (I wanted Poe btw never liked Claiborne). But anyway, this is a GREAT player. The tone he is going to set alone makes it worth it. He's going to have already fired up guys like Dez and Witten on a new level. After the draft he said "I hate to lose more then I love to win." He's that dog we've all yearned for to go along with Dez. He would've never got hawked by Peppers and then fumbled it.

I can't believe two years later we got a guy I was totally joking about having a chance to get. It's rare that 2 years in advance you see a player and know he's going to be a top 5 pick. Zeke never lost any of that momentum the next 2 seasons and went #4 overall. What a fantastic pick I can't wait to watch him play. My fantasy teams name is Touchdown Elliott this year. All hail the hero in the half shirt!

After I saw him shred the Crimson Tide - one of my favorite college teams - I started hoping he would be a Cowboy. I was kind of optimistic because I realized the NFL has devalued the running back position, and we might have a chance at him in the middle or lower parts if the first round. But him being a great back likely would move him higher in the draft selection and we'd have to give up a king's random to get up to get him.

So I didn't give it much more thought unail we tanked the season and got the fourth pick in the draft. Then I saw it as a possibility but, honestly, would have preferred Romo's franchise replacement. And then the Rams and the Eagles made a move above us. And that's when I really started hoping EE woyld wear the star.

And now he does. :D

I'm predicting 1,500 rushing yards 17 TDs.

It's unheard of to draft a rookie RB in the top 5 for fantasy but he's in such and awesome position to succeed that his ADP will probably actually be that high.

Zeke was one of 5 players I not just wanted Dallas to draft. But also thought he helps the team overall compared to any other player at the time. Also throw in one player for them to sign, tohugh he was drafted a few years before he could sign.

Herschel Walker, after hearing the news the USFL was folding, and Dallas had the rights to Walker...thank you Donald Trump for releasing Walker from his personal services contract, allowing him to sign with Dallas.
Michael Irvin, as we need a dynamic WR to build on.
Troy Aikman, as he was the in the line of building a great team.

Emmitt...man I just knew he was the 3rd piece of the puzzle and then work on the defense. He was 1st overall as a personal player I wanted.
Dez being next, needed him to pair with Tony, just need a RB, and i never thought Murray was that guy. Great season, but it was only one season. Before that, he frustrated me at times.
Now Zeke, I have that feel from him, as i did back when we got Emmitt.

Being an Ohio State fan, i been waiting for several years to see / hope Dallas could get EE, some way, some how. And they did.
I bought a Dez jersey right away, and will go get a Zeke jersey now too. Even though I am not a big "get a jersey" type guy, but I will.

If Zeke is projected 20 carries a game, it'll definitely be that high and I'll do what I have to do in my league's draft to get him.

I certainly understand the people who think we took Zeke too high, but you have to admit. A team with the kind of offensive line that we have, with the kind of running backs we have in Zeke, McFadden and Morris is going to be hard to deal with. The flaws defensively are obvious but I have great confidence in lining up on offense and fielding a team that can run the ball on pretty much anybody and to me that is the foundation that a good team must have.

To the OP. I bet your friend the Eagle's fan is jealous. I know I've been watching Zeke for the last couple years and hoping somehow we could grab him. I'm pretty excited too.

I'm excited too. Last time I felt this excited was when we got Troy and a few years later when we stole Woody in the 2nd.

What slays me is this.

When Murray was here, and especially toward the end of his career with Dallas, people would complain about Murray not being able to break the long TD run.

So they draft a guy who has this ability, blocks close to if not better than Murray, and shows all the signs of being a special player, and now it's "We took him to high and didn't get value."

There will be a day in 2016, and I predict in September, where Elliott will break something for 60 yards and a score, and there will not be one person on this board that is not completely sold on him.

And the hue and cry will be, "I knew he'd be greatness all along. My concern was value."

This will also ignore what I project as Jalen Ramsey being nothing special in the NFL. Solid, but not the star so man claim he will be.

There will always be "noise" in any communication stream. Tuning it out is so special.

Yes Zeke behind this OL, as well as DMC & Alfred, we can have a 3 headed monster running attack, to go with the passing attack with romo to Dez, Witten, Beasley and others.
Our defense though not great, but they are in better shape than the 2014 defense, so there is an improvement. Just need a pass rush to emerge. And it can, but some won't agree, but I don't care about that. Overall this team is better.

The NFL nowadays is so close. A play here, a play there. Overall last year, with the injuries all over the place, things were bound to go the way they did. Don't get me wrong, I was very disappointed in the coaching staff even given the circumstances. I've been pretty vocal about the in game management, scheme and game planning of Jason Garrett, but it was really an uphill battle all year with the injuries.

I thing this team will definitely have more turnovers created this year I mean, how in the hell can they not from last year? Hopefully we'll stay relatively healthy. Are you kidding me with these daggum injuries last year? And this offensive line with these running backs is something that will be hard for any team to deal with.

Hearing Zeke talk at the press conference, he was all about destroying the will of his opponent throughout the game so that he can embarrass them in the 4th quarter when they are worn down. That's exactly the mentality this football team needs to do what it wants to do and I look forward to watching it.

Yes, love that from Zeke, we need more of that.
Jimmy Johnson used to say, there are about 6 plays that most the time defines and shapes a game. And a good part of the time, it's just the way the ball bounces.
It's about time we had an injury free year, or as close to you can get injury free.

Same here man my friend likes that other team and he's a big Ohio state fan. I would tell him ever since 2 years ago, he was praying he would be the pick at 2 lmao now I'm keeping my word getting the jersey for him and hopefully he crosses over that line.
