I respect what Gruden is doing

I am sure his current players don’t respect a 34-3 loss to a team that only had one win. That team has given up. Cooper is likely thrilled to be in Dallas despite no coaching

He is 100% committed to tanking. I don't respect hovering around 8-8 every year. It is counterproductive in the long run. Either you're a serious contender ex. Rams, Patriots, Chiefs etc. or you tank. No perpetual mediocrity.

Gruden us an idiot. He and Garrett live in the past and think a NFL team can win the same way back years ago.

Gruden will never adjust to modern day football. He will be fired within 2 years.

The polarizing view is Gruden is sacrificing the careers of veterans who he recruited to come play for him. However I do agree with you. Gruden is in a special situation.Moving out of town he faces no consequences.

As a long time player and coach, I would never lose a game on purpose. I know what you mean, but I can't stand losing for any reason.

He has a 10 year 100 million guaranteed contract. He isn't going anywhere.

He has three first round picks, 1 of which he can assure will be a high round pick, a second pick that is likely going to be mid round at the latest (ours), and a pick around or in the 20s from the Bears. Who knows what the Raiders will do with Carr in the offseason, I don't know how much Gruden likes him - I could see him shipping Carr off for some future picks to a QB desperate team.

I would say tanking is stupid any other time, but Gruden having a decade or, at the very least 5 years to fix things - I think he can afford to tank a season and rebuild in the offseason.

At least when you stink, you get the excitement of a high draft pick that year. When you are perennially mediocre, the malaise is deafening. Nobody expected Gruden to turn it around in a year. His plan is obviously to rid the team of players and gain draft picks. It's brilliant and will likely pay dividends if they draft well next year.

Sorry, I would much prefer an honest 8 and 8 to a dishonest 0-16. Probably why I am not in the NFL, among other glaring reasons.

Most coaches don't get 10 years to rebuild - If he was on a 3-4 year deal, I doubt he'd be doing this. He's ridding of the previous regimes mistakes and players that don't fit his idea of scheme.

I see nothing wrong with this - the only problem is, Gruden isn't very good when it comes to the draft. Better with FA signings, and he has freed up cap space for the offseason.
