i don't really blame the eagles. he has'nt been much to write home about to me.and both sides knew when they traded for him he was a f.a. at the end of the season. both sides knew that if they liked what theyu saw they would work out an extension.both sides knew that if he did'nt show much he would'nt be offered much.he has'nt and he won't
seems like a much smarter move to not sign a guy to big money who's not really worth it, than it was to trade for him

Owens is the obvious one, but what about.. Derrick Burgess (10 sacks this year, 16 last year now with the Raiders) .. Hollis Thomas (a major force in the middle for the Saints this year) .. I could probably name a dozen mistakes in the past 5 years that they made.

Also, don't underestimate the loss of guys like Ike Reese (Falcons) who were major contributors on special teams.

Every year, the Eagles win the award for being furthest under the cap, which is clearly more important to them then winning championships.

Regarding Stallworth, they will let him test the market and undoubtedly some bonehead team will pay him far too much money.

Good post. And.... sometimes you need to keep a vet around a little longer than he should be.... when do ALL YOUNG teams win championships... you need to sprinkle it with veterans... sometimes merely for leadership and some of the intangibles

This is smart. Stallworth has had the same track record this year as he has every other.

Just because he just had a big game is no reason to sign him to an extension.

Yeah... keep taking away The GREAT McNabb's weapons. Real smart. If the Eagles would spend some money he would have weapons to throw to and probably would not have gotten hurt. He probably doesnt spend most of his time scrambling risking injury.
