After Tampa, I thought “hey he might just pull an Eli Manning”

I don’t remember Eli having big names the super bowls he won, and we had a few.

To me Eli was very average and he still managed to step up.

Dak just can’t do it. He’s just not that guy

I just hope Jerry does not look at the money and continue to ride this guy. We need to look at the draft, FA ect

Because the way our D played any other QB comes away with points. Even if it’s just 3

I was indifferent on Dak. I wasn't a Dak apologist, but I also wasn't a "hater". I just gave him the benefit of the doubt for a long time, because the guy CAN play really well, but he just cannot find consistency. This last game was my "stick a fork in me, I'm done" moment.

The first int was "oof" for me, but I gave him a chance to settle in. That 2nd int before half is what did it for me. That took all the air left I had for him out of the sails. I think for the team that day too.

I truly believe Cowboys could have beat the Niners with good QB play, but noooooooo, bad Dak had to show up.

Somehow the Cowboys need to find a way to get a QB in here who can compete for the starting job. If Dak were pushed (instead of already knowing it's his job no matter what) it would help. Unfortunately it isn't Rush. Good backup QB though. We need someone who can make Dak feel the heat. Otherwise we will keep getting the usual post game speeches like we heard after the Washington and San Fran games. UGH!

A QB competition would not make Dak better.

How did Aikman do his first 2 years and last 4 career years when he didn't have weapons around him and a good Oline in front of him? Why didn't Aikman with his talent carry the team or make players around him better during those years?

The same goes for Romo.

Even they needed good weapons, a good Oline and good coaches/playcalling to help them win.

They could draft someone to take over in 2-3 years (they won't) but that's about it. There's no way out of that contract in 2023-24.

The only hope for Dak would have been if the Cowboys could win in spite of him; letting him be a complimentary piece that could produce when the opposing team was already on the ropes.
Dak was never going to make the Cowboys better.

So, did I.
I thought he might have caught the old "lightening-in-a-bottle". Alas...nope...

As I pointed out in another thread comparing Dak and Aikman...look at how Aikman did vs Carolina in 1996, 1 year removed from a super Bowl with still a bunch of HOFs on the squad.

1 td that was horribly thrown to moose and 3 ints. Almost got 200 yards of offense...

The hope for Dak and the team was that somehow the oline could start playing like they did when we were running the ball effectively.
With Tyron back and Peters healthy, there was some hope of that. But Tyron wasn't showing a quick ramp up at RT, and Peters went out. And then Pollard went out during the game. All on Dak's shoulders. Not the day for that.

These Dak detractors don't want to compare or talk about that. It destroys their narrative. They just want Dak out at all costs.

I don't think you can be one dimensional vs SF.

They thought they had the OL to a point where they could run the ball against a SF when Steele was at RT.

That injury hurt us a lot but thankfully we had Tyron. Just not as good in the run game.

Ya they all ignored it.

It made Dak's performance look amazing on Sunday.

And I'm not bagging on Aikman...it happens to the best of them

Everyone should go look at all of Brady's playoff clunkers...he had some doozies.

People are seriously comparing Dak Prescott to Troy Aikman. It’s laughable and ridiculous. We’ll just completely dismiss his 11 playoff wins, his 2 MVPs and 3 championships all before that Carolina game. lol but hey imagine if Dak ever actually won anything? That would be something!

No one is dismissing Troy's SB years accomplishments, but what happened to him his first 2 years and last 4 years?

Answer the question.
