I starting to get a little worried about what Parcells is doing...

Great. Another rookie at RT

Ugh, but I think there's a slight difference between a Top 20 rookie RT and a compensational 6th round draft pick rookie RT.

Inexperience was only part of Pettiti's problem.

Ok...I'm only going to say this once.

I don't care how much it costs if it gets this team to the next level. People keep *****ing about price.

This is a business. You have to spend money to make money.

Oh...and Bently can play both guard and center. In fact, some say he is better as a guard.

I would have gone after Bentley and Neal. Cut Allen, start Bentley in his spot, have Rivera and Neal battle it out for RG. Draft a rook at RT and let the rook and Kovier battle it out for the RT spot.

I know it is too late now. And I know FA isn't over. I just hope we don't go into next year with the offensive line we currently have.

Only one problem, Bentley said he didn't want to play guard. And has neal signed with anyone? if he did , I missed it. I would like to have him as well.

I don't think Neal has signed with anyone yet. I would really like to bring him in.

It doesn't really matter about Bentley anyway. He is a Brown.

Whatever.

I know Parcells will address it somehow.

i absolutely agree DM, people need to take off the rose colored glasses. OL and kicker were the biggest needs of the off season PERIOD. we have done NOTHING to address them except sign a back-up scrub and pray. JJ is looking to make an un-necessary splash while ignoring the basic issues on this team. guess what the skins, giants and eagles and all other teams will do to defend TO (if he comes) and Glenn? thats right... blitz the heck out of bledsoe. there is no way this OL is up to the challenge of facing the defences and the complicated blitz packages they will face the whole season. once again we will start out 3-2 and end up 9-7 and miss the playoffs and everyone will be crying about the poor showing by OL starters, same old excuses about "injuries", "lack of depth", "rookies starting" etc. this is BPs 4th year here, count em.. 1,2,3,4, that is how many off seasons he has had to address these issues and i am getting tired of the excuses. like i have said before, this game is not that complicated ... if you win in the trenches you win the game more often than not.

I remember all of this worried talk last off-season. I don't know if you guys remember, but most people around these parts were doom and gloom about the '05 season, and it turned out to be a very positive thing. Go figure.
Actually as I recall last year about this time of year everyone was pumped because we had brought in some players to fill some major needs and seemed ready to take off...I don't recall all that much doom and gloom. But then you go on to say that last year was "very positive"...Very Positive? How the hell was having the team go into a major skid down the stretch and miss the playoff yet again to be considered so damn positive? How was having our O-Line exposed as the piss poor unit they were to be considered positive? We were above .500...big Whooptie Do.

This team was a HUGE disappointment last year for many if not most of us. I had high expectations and higher hopes but they were dashed in a series of bungled scoring opportunities and missed field goals.

I am not at all concerned about not signing any of the big name oldtimers. Both Rivera and Ferguson were disappointments last year as will anyone we sign off the street who is over 30. But I am very concerned that we have signed only two players (who I am happy with) while letting a ton of talent evaporate from the team in the dismissal of Glover, Campbell and Keyshawn. This team needs help in so many areas and we have money but we are sitting on a beach sipping Pina' Coladas and letting the team go straight to hell.

Yes I am pissed off and it will only get worse if we sign Owens. It will tell me what I already know; Jerry is putting all his eggs in one basket and going all out to sign the most detested enemy the team has. [/rant]

agreed. people say that JJ has learnt his lessons but if he signs TO and does not address the other needs adequately then he still hasnt. he is doing what he always wants to do... make a splash.
