I suspect Bill Nagy will get demoted soon.

I suspect Bill Nagy will get demoted to second team once Dockery is up to part with the offensive line. I think Garrett even hinted at it. Nagy couldn't move his defenders on running plays and was getting pushed back in the pocket on pass plays.

Currently he just isn't big or strong enough to manage as the starting guard. I think the Cowboys knew this and is exactly why the went and signed Dockery. He is stronger and better suited to be the starting guard at this point. I suspect Nagy's turn may come next year after a year with Mike Woicik.

I think Nagy is going to be a really good player. I just think he needs some strength and conditioning before he is ready for the job full time. He IMO is in the exact same boat as Costa last year.

You could be right. I still like the guy and think he has a chance of being a starter here for sometime.

What did Garrett have to say about Nagy? I think I missed it.

I am hoping he just improves as the year goes on. So the whole line didn't get much push. But I would assume that had something to do with the jets blitzing every down.

I agree. Hopefully by the time we play Suh.

I thought he looked really good. Kosier seemed like the rookie getting bullied

Hope that's not true. Sounds like a progress stunter to me. Nagy could be part of the future, an important one. Dockery is a veteran band aid. I'd rather ride it out with Nagy.

Is this insider info? I hope Nagy continues to start. I like playing players with upside with the idea that they can get a lot better with added strength and extra snaps. I really like how young our OL is right now and want to see it stay that way. I also like having inexpensive veteran depth in a pinch and not having to put a rookie in to learn on the fly in the middle of the season.

I do not think so ...... I think they want guys who can get to the second and 3rd levels.

I think Dockery may play Goaline ..... but thats it.

NYC, I enjoyed this post. It's really nice to have an opportunity to talk about depth and quality in and about the Dallas offensive line. In today's NFL, depth and quality go hand in hand with success.

beat me to it.

It's several starts and many more struggles away...........and I'm not saying that's going to be the case but that's what it would take.

Even then.........Arkin will get a shot first IMO.

I have to admit I thought Nagy was a bad pick. He has been a pleasant surprise. I think he keeps his job. He gets out on the screens and pulls really well.

He might be referring to something that Jerry said on the radio...something about the reason that they signed Dockery was to get more push in the middle.

The loss sucks, while admittedly the new Defensive scheme will be exciting to behold every game.

Still, the young Oline was the best improvement of the Dallas team. Nagy included.

Only Garrett/Houck should give them a different short game run blocking scheme and put in Tanner.

not to pick on you, but how can anyone think the #252 pick (out of 254 i think?) is a bad pick. Anyone who makes the roster at that point is a successfull pick, no matter what happens going foward and the only way I'd say it is a bad pick is if the were cut prior to a preseason game.

If Dockery goes out and earns it then great. Dockery has had no training camp so it will take some time but he is a vet if he can show the coaches that he can play to a high level then make the switch if not then I'll stay with Nagy

Maybe I'm the only one, but I thought the O-line did well considering the circumstances (first or second start for three of them) and who they were playing.
