I think Bernadeau made Waters expendable

With his solid play the last few weeks, right or wrong, don't be surprised if Waters isn't back. They might low ball him an offer but with Water's pride I'm not sure he takes it. JMO

Bernadeau has looked good, but I would sure feel good about going in next year with as many quality OL as we can take. Waters signed for two years didn't he?

EDIT: Nope it was for one year. Still, I'd welcome him back if we could afford it.

They have zero depth at Guard. They were 1 injury away from Phil Costa starting.

They must add a quality Guard in the spring. They can't make any decisions on the possibility of Waters coming back after training camp. Waters is a nice insurance policy in case they have problems coming out of training camp.

Maybe. I'd still like to see us draft an upside guard in the 4th or 5th.

I'm not sold that this unit is 'fixed'.

I would be perfectly okay with going into the season with the same offensive line as we ended. Orton had VERY good protection back there all game. Water did help the whole offensive line gel though. He knew how the stunts were coming and it helped everyone out, but he is like 37 years old or something.

We do need depth along the OL though.

Still think this draft needs to be DL heavy along with a safety and a QB.

They definitely need to draft more offensive lineman, let the best man win the position. I'm all about improvement for the entire team!

I'd like to see a guard taken either in the first, or the second round, and a defensive lineman with what ever is left in the one-two pick. Jerry's crack talent scout is batting about .275 success, whereas the norm in over .500. Jerry's hit on a few unheralded picks in the later rounds, but very few, not enough to warrant continuing to do it.

Why not. Of course he would have to be prepared to be content with a backup position if he selects to skip TC again.

I also agree, however, that the Cowboys need to add, preferably in the 2nd round, a guard in the draft.

He truly surprised me with how well he played. I think it makes pursuing Waters less of a priority than a necessity.

I agree and the fact that a 38 yeard old G (though talented) is in the plans doesn't hold well for the future. Need that new blood @ G, or LG anyway.

We need to draft a guard for sure. I love how Leary held up a whole season, but who is say he'll do it again next year. Mack played real good in the scheme and had plenty of impact blocks. I would use Waters during the season if one of our guys go down.

Huh? What are you talking about with that .500 number?

We should draft another OL this yeah, maybe as early as 2nd round (instead of another TE). Love how Berny finished but need to see more consistency. Waters is just going to be the too old to expect much on the field

Bernie has been inconsistent his entire career. You cannot rely on him to keep it up. Waters is also needed to teach these guys. As usual no one is thinking ahead and wants to do as little as possible on the O line. Same old story.

The Oline was MUCH better this year BECAUSE the TALENT was upgraded. But Leary has knee problems; Bernie is inconsistent and you never know what you are going to get from Free.

I'm torn on this one because Waters is a true beast. Waters is an absolute monster, and for me, I'll take the best even over a young guy.

Berny's problem is he cannot stay healthy during the most important part of the season, TC. Last 2 years injured during training camp, last two years he closes the year out strong. It takes him half a season to get his legs under him after missing significant parts of TC. A little off topic but we need new LBers a replacement for at least one OLB plus maybe a replacement in the wings for Lee, he is made of glass, love his heart and fire but he is just fragile.
