I think Cooper Rush can be successful

Remember....he did play well last year in his only start. Looked really good. Getting first team reps should help a lot this week. Rely on the run game and quit the gimmicky stuff. Has Turpin been getting a lot of reps at WR? If so, then why not? Got to do some things to try and open up this pass game.

Here's my concern: 11 completions, 206 yards and 2 TDs. Those were his numbers throwing to Amari and Wilson.

The WR corp remains an issue, at least until we get some guys back and/or the kids grow up.

He played well in his only start last season with completely different personnel. Of his 325 yards passing against Minnesota last season over 200 of those yards came from Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson. We had a very talented offense last season with a terrific receiving corp. He’s going to have very little success with this offense and team. This may be the least talented offense I can remember with the Cowboys. In the late 80s before Aikman arrived at least they had Herschel Walker who scared people. In the early 2000’s when they were going 5-11 they had Joey Galloway who scared people. This offense has no one that scares anyone.

What about running the Wildcat most of the time? Wouldn't dismiss as a philosophy at this point.

OK~
(1) Cooper was here then, not now
(2) L Collins was here then, not now
(3) Dak is a far more mobile QB than Rush
(4) Dak was mauled by Dallas weak OL and is hurt, Rush will not survive
(5) McGovern is now out and another backup on the left side of the line

No, he got bailed out by Cooper on a couple of poorly thrown balls that were horribly misplayed by the defensive backs. He had the one good pass to Wilson that was due in large part to blown coverage. They won that game in spite of him, not because of him or that he played well!

This game in particular will be tough but I think there is a pathway to victory.

Burrow is second in the league in sacks created and also coughed the ball up 5 times last week.

Play some opportunistic defense and actually stay with a competitive running game, and who knows what could happen.

I also expect Rush to be less snakebitten than Dak, and actually trust his arm to try and force it down the field, for better or worse. I guess we'll see.

Cooper Rush will not be ok. He simply doesn't have the physical talent to play ore than spot duty in the NFL.

I would honestly feel better right now with the Nooch taking over.

The main thing Rush has going for him right now is that he's relatively unknown with little tape on him besides his game last season. So I trust the defense will key on the run which should open things open a little in the passing game. It's just a matter of whether Rush has the ability to take advantage.

He’s got such talent that he’s a player cut here couldn’t make the giants PS and was left unprotected on the PS, that just shouts talent
