I think Cooper Rush can be successful

Here's my concern: 11 completions, 206 yards and 2 TDs. Those were his numbers throwing to Amari and Wilson.

The WR corp remains an issue, at least until we get some guys back and/or the kids grow up.
Tru dat. Let's hope for the best.

All our QB,S including Prescott are horrible . I can't believe so many people in this forum are fine with Rush .

He played well in his only start last season with completely different personnel. Of his 325 yards passing against Minnesota last season over 200 of those yards came from Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson. We had a very talented offense last season with a terrific receiving corp. He’s going to have very little success with this offense and team. This may be the least talented offense I can remember with the Cowboys. In the late 80s before Aikman arrived at least they had Herschel Walker who scared people. In the early 2000’s when they were going 5-11 they had Joey Galloway who scared people. This offense has no one that scares anyone.
He'll have a healthy Zeke, which he didn't have last year. Put Peters in at guard and pound the hell out of the ball. Zeke pounding and Pollard breaking longer runs will setup Coop for some broken coverages that he has the ability to see/read faster than Dak.

Could he play any worse than Dak played on Sunday night we will certainly see.
I'm not thinking it'll be much worse than that hopefully better maybe CD will stop hearing footsteps and catch the ball

Remember....he did play well last year in his only start. Looked really good. Getting first team reps should help a lot this week. Rely on the run game and quit the gimmicky stuff. Has Turpin been getting a lot of reps at WR? If so, then why not? Got to do some things to try and open up this pass game.

I think he can be as well. But is he in a position to succeed? Or are they just game planning as if he's Dak? That won't work. Last year he was playing with a full deck against the Vikings.

Play some opportunistic defense and actually stay with a competitive running game, and who knows what could happen.

The defence has to score. Not just create turnovers. SCORE. You are asking too much of Rush to consistently manage 12-15 play drives to get into the red zone.

The Bengals have a real easy line to figure out Cooper Rush and put him into negative situations that is not his physical or mental capability.

The next 5 weeks is all about a team called the Cowboys winning the games as an entire team. No one player can do this, and we should be seeing plays made by the unlikeliest of game day heroes if we want to win.

It's just a matter of whether Rush has the ability to take advantage.

I expect defences to challenge his noodle arm with allowing long throws to the sidelines. Bottle up all the short throws, shut down the run game - completely. Sell out with 8 and 9 man box looks drop back out into 6 man rushes and confuse the heck out of him.

Show huge collisions with Zeke and Pollard to scare the crap out of Rush. Defence has come prepared to play.

A couple of really hard sacks to Cooper would be the strategy to fold him like a cheap tent. If he does get some time
challenge him with stiff coverage and make him complete the hard throws with zip.

Knowing how inept the Cowboys defence is I would be taking some real hard intention runs at Cooper with a roughing the passer penalty. Especially on throwing downs deep in Cowboys territory. I would not be scared that with a 15 yard penalty that Cooper is capable of making me pay.

These next four weeks will determine if he is prepared to be an NFL player or if he is just collecting a paycheck.

I wish I was wrong, but if I was an opposing DC this is what I would do.

A healthy Zeke still isn’t explosive. His longest run last week was 7 yards. Both he and Pollard are going to have a tough time with everyone bent on stopping our running game and forcing Cooper Rush to beat them. Rush doesn’t do anything better than than Dak except maybe throw a deep ball. I’m laughing at fans that are trying to pump him up as possibly an upgrade over Dak. Lol

Zeke averaged 5.2 yards a run. Give him 10 more and Pollard 7 more and they will break a few.

Rush absolutely reads defenses better than Dak.

Will you be bummed if we win with Rush at QB?

Remember....he did play well last year in his only start. Looked really good. Getting first team reps should help a lot this week. Rely on the run game and quit the gimmicky stuff. Has Turpin been getting a lot of reps at WR? If so, then why not? Got to do some things to try and open up this pass game.
Turpin was not used much at all, in the 1st game, doubt that changes lol.

About rush if he plays good, and they run 35-40 times a game they might do ok.
This might actually make kellen call more runs, but I dont see him running enough.
They should have run with dak, but they just threw runs in here and there lol.

He did not look really good. He did ok. Elliot made a heck of a play. Broke 4 tackles and got hurt on the play.. The players made plays. Now no Cedric Wilson or no Cooper. The same rookies he had before on Sunday. The TEAMis going to need to pull together. Let’s see if they rally or flounder..

OK~
(1) Cooper was here then, not now
(2) L Collins was here then, not now
(3) Dak is a far more mobile QB than Rush
(4) Dak was mauled by Dallas weak OL and is hurt, Rush will not survive
(5) McGovern is now out and another backup on the left side of the line

Re: #4, Dak really truly isn't very mobile, especially over the last 9-10 games dating back to the second half of last season. He's also insanely bad when pressured in the pocket. Not saying Rush is any better, but Dak has seemingly regressed over the last year or so.

It's so funny how everyone just goes back to the Minny game to feel all warm and fuzzy about Rush. With a mental block on all the crappy and sloppy play he has had prior. If a team is now able to watch film on him and game plan against him, you will see why he is Cooper Rush. It was just this past TC this forum was wondering who is the better backup and Rush was being run out of town...LOL.......yep, he is really good.

Against the vikings he they had him throw it 40 times and he missed 16 of them. The one thing I will say is that if they give him the look he will throw it deep. Let’s hope the Defense shows up and we run the ball.

Running the ball more would help.
