A very under rated player

A tipped pass at the line goes in the stats as a PD. He had quite a few of those.

Another thing that hurt that was that he was so fast off the snap that he unfairly got flagged for off-sides. That was even commented on by announcers from time to time. How many great plays made by him were taken away because they basically flagged him for being too fast off the ball?

Marinelli was the DL coach in 2013, as we converted to the 4-3 in 2013, in Kiffin's one lone (disasterous) year as DC.

Cowboys cut Ware in 2014 offseason and Marinelli took over for the fired Monte Kiffin as DC in 2014.

DE in 4-2-5 Nickel vs OLB in 3-4

I don't have the stats, but I was watching some DWare highlight videos and I counted more sacks when he played DE than OLB.

It would make sense because 4-2-5 was Wade's pass defense and 3-4 was was his base downs defense.

He's gotten much better out of a two point. When Nolan first came in with the look it was a real struggle but Quinn seems to have really helped him.

Yeah well I follow this team. He had one playoff win here. So did your buddy Jason Witten.

Neither of those guys wanted to win and they were blessed with Hall of Fame talent. Very sad.

I always thought the argument that he couldn’t play DE was the best way to know if someone understands the basics of an NFL defense.

I don't think anyone ever said Ware could not play DE.. just that doing so placed more demands on him physically. Putting his hand in the dirt and playing more head up on a tackle vs standing up outside subjected him to more collisions.

Wade used primarily 3-3-5 Nickel formations in 2009 at least. However 3-4 playing even fronts in Nickel has been the norm for a long time
