I think Eberflus has to give him help all game. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chicago take some shots early if he has no help. I feel Diggs is only going to get better with more PT, but until Bland gets back Eberflus has to change his philosophy.

Probably would be the way I'd go. Mostly play Diggs one-on-one with occasional safety help just to mix things up, and give Elam safety help on pretty much every play. We could still zone the linebackers and the other safety at times, but Diggs is at his best when he's playing press man, so let him play press man.

Elam is a better man to man defender and showed it vs Philly.
Eberflus played way too much zone and too many various zone concepts. Players were th8nking too much and slow reacting. He panicked with Bland out.

Playing better than anyone else doesn’t mean he wasn’t terrible. We all hate Diggs, I get it, but Elam was horrible.
I don't think we can evaluate Elam or any of the DBs yet watching them run around helplessly in these vanilla zone coverages. The G-men just ran streaks and deep corner routes most of the game, and exposed Eb;s vanilla Cover 2 and Cover 3 schemes. Those plays are designed to beat these coverages, and the Giants knew Eb would run these most of the game. So Eb got outcoached for most of the game.

The safety play was bad, the DBs looked bad...but a lot of this is on Eberflus for not only calling most of these zones, but not even trying to disguise them. Russell was licking his chops. The Cowboys rarely line up in bump-n-run coverage, and can't even hide their zones. Come on, man!!!

when you're safety help is Donavon Wilson, would it even matter. how many times did receivers just run by both

they played zone against Philly. but I think Elam is better than people think

Diggs, Elam, Bland, Butler, Carson, and Revel are man to man CBs. Play the personnel to their strengths, call 2 deep man sometimes, I don't care but play man more and blitz.

Poor reads as to prepared for and expected scheme by the opponent. The team in the second game. were not able to dominate. That, although, is not the final skill level to be reached.

So how does Dallas improve against the pass following their Week 2 performance? For Jones, it involves his players leaning more into Matt Eberflus' scheme.

Agreed..

Flus has always played zone and rarely blitzes.. I wonder if the GM knew how much that fits with our guys before he was hired.

Hooker will run the wrong direction

No exotic stuff. Just basic defense. Our guys are not smart enough to execute exotic schemes

when a player is bad, waste time trying ot even it out, dont replace him
