I think if Falcons take QB, Pitts could be acquired

It has been reported that there is some in fighting regards to the 4th overall pick with their new HC & GM. If the Falcons do decide to take a QB, I think Pitts has a chance to become a Cowboy with a trade up that won't greatly affect our draft class. If they trade back before us, that could change things.

-Cincy could go either Sewell or Chase. Outside chance they select Pitts
-Think Miami traded back up to 6 for a receiver they covet. Already have a quality TE.

*Lions-they recently used a high pick at the TE position and are in full rebuilding mode. Think Carolina is a legitimate threat for Pitts, so need to get ahead of them.

Trade Chart

Pick 7 is worth 1500 points
Pick 10 is worth 1300 points

Pick 75 is worth 215
Exchange Detriot's 5th with our 6th to make it work.

Cowboys would still own their original 2nd and comp 3rd.

Why would the Cowboys trade up for a TE? Cause he is a generational talent like a Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss at the TE position.

Atlanta restructured Ryan basically guaranteeing he’s there for the next 2 years I believe. I would still draft Field if you think he’s a franchise QB.

I’m with you 1000%. If they can get him... then get him. Guy is going to win games for whoever picks him.

I wanted to use a pick move up a few spots for Aaron Donald, and had they, the team would have been better for all those years.

‘Huge talent is worth a middling player that you get with a later pick.

I hope they do it.

I'm pretty sure Atlanta is going to trade down. Like Malhavoc said, they can't pick a rookie QB without going down the Aaron Rodgers/Jordan Love road, and they are going to get some fat offers for their pick.

They say that water flows in the path of least resistance... passing on a guy who won't start for 2 seasons anyway, passing on a WR/TE, and getting 2 1sts + some picks to start the rebuild seems like the easiest way for them to go.

i could be wrong but i think atlanta takes pitts at 4.
but its a no brainer if he's in striking distance of us.
you take him and dont look back.

Think a 3rd rd pick is the highest I would go due to all the defensive needs. I think he could be the next Randy Moss type of talent where he just dominates the league without the character concerns.

If they move out and get a pick past us, would have the same affect as the 4th QB would be selected.

If he makes it past their pick and they don't take a non QB, there is an excellent chance he makes it to the Lions.

Yeah, I’ve been saying that. I’m pretty careful not to make comparisons to hall of fame players... but just like when I compared Donald to Warren Sapp, I feel like Moss is a good comparison and that Pitts could be wearing a yellow Jacket one day too.

He’s going to be worth it. I’m telling you...

Let this sink in for everybody. I saw a stat yesterday that 91% of Pitts receptions resulted in a TD or first down. That is incredible. Hope we can get him.

I might throw in Gallup, if it helps seal the deal. A team like Detroit really wants WR and is probably going WR if they stick at 7. Getting a 3rd, Gallup and only drop back 3 spots would be great for them

As for Dallas, Pitts is going to cut back on needing Gallup anyway, so it isn’t any big loss for them, and giving up a 3rd to get a guy that catches the ball the way he does and is so natural in everything he does... well, that would be a win for the Cowboys, although half the fan base would probably explode.

I wouldn't rule out Pitts for either Miami or Detroit.

Pitts is basically a WR, you can play him with either of those guys, so the idea of "they have a TE so they won't take Pitts" doesn't hold much water, imo.

He’s a rare, rare player. One scout of 30 years told Kim Jones of the NFL Network that Pitts tracks the ball in the air better than anyone he’s ever seen.

Unfortunately, I think this very well could be true. A couple of weeks ago, I thought that Cincy was going Sewell for sure and that Miami would take chase...putting Pitts at the 7th pick.

However, Pitts is becoming such a well documented elite player that either team could decide on him. With Sewell not testing quite as good as people expected, that really puts Pitts at risk of going to Cincy.

I still think Miami goes Chase because he’s a rare, special player himself and they love TE Gesecki there. But you can’t rule Pitts out there for sure.

Of course, Cincy could go Chase and reunite him with Burrow as well, which probably puts Pitts in Miami.

Detroit just spent a top 10 pick on TE with Hockenson. Combine that with both Golliday and Marvin Jones leaving and they really, really need a wideout.

Yea. I mean Pitts could last until 10, he might not. I just don't think that a team having a TE matters much in the equation.

Would like to keep Gallup if possible, but if he isn't apart of the future, I would have no problem putting him in if it seals the deal.

I don't think you can totally rule him out, but it's unlikely as both teams have WR needs, where I don't see Pitts becoming a full-time outside receiver.

He was doing this in the SEC against several of the top corners in this year's draft.

I don’t see Pitts getting past the Dolphins. Remember Miami is New England of the South and the Patriots love two tight end sets. The Lions could draft Pitts as well because Goff plays better in the two tight end attack. If Pitts is really Randy Moss without the baggage:rolleyes:, why would the teams in front of the Cowboys pass on him. I personally have my doubts about tight ends but most draft analysts have him as a top 3 player in this draft.

You could be right. Funny thing, I use the PFN draft simulator cause it's a bit more realistic, Pitts is at 10 80% of the time, lol.
