I think if Falcons take QB, Pitts could be acquired

Would like to keep Gallup if possible, but if he isn't apart of the future, I would have no problem putting him in if it seals the deal.
I can’t imagine them re-signing Gallup after this year if they had Cooper/ Lamb/ Pitts. It is probably Micheal’s last year in Dallas, no matter what.

BTW, I really do like Gallup a lot and I think he’s a really good receiver. I’m not looking to get rid of him at all. He’s a valuable guy. It just shows how much I value Pitts that I’d be willing to trade him to Detroit.

The Lions could test him out for a year and then if they want to re-sign him, they would have the inside track to doing so. They’d probably still draft WR at 10, so they would have Gallup / Waddle / Hockenson... which would be very good for them.

It is a deal that could be good for both teams.

You could be right. Funny thing, I use the PFN draft simulator cause it's a bit more realistic, Pitts is at 10 80% of the time, lol.
Probably because he is a tight end. All the early draft magazines have him falling to the teens.

Dan Campbell is an old schooled run blocking TE, Pitts may make him sick as he really isn't an inline TE. Could see them also being interesting in going OL. Adding Gallup, plus Slater could be a nice start for their offense.

Yea. I mean Pitts could last until 10, he might not. I just don't think that a team having a TE matters much in the equation.
I agree somewhat. Pitts is so talented that you might can throw everything out the window and just take him.

If I had to guess though, with Detroit and Miami having so little at WR, and with them having very good options at TE in Hockenson and Gesecki... plus, with very good to elite WR’s there in Chase and Smith/Waddle... it just makes me think they’ll go WR.

Particularly in Detroit’s case if they can move back from 7 to 10 and still get one of the Two WR’s they want.... all while picking up a 3rd and Gallup. It just makes too much sense IMO.

He’s a rare, rare player. One scout of 30 years told Kim Jones of the NFL Network that Pitts tracks the ball in the air better than anyone he’s ever seen.
I wasn’t really gun ho about drafting him but the more I read evaluations on him I changed my mind

Pitts is the wild card of this draft because he is talented enough to go top 5, but his position is not generally valued as highly as other positions.

I could see him going anywhere from 4 to 12. But I think 4-7 is most likely.

We just don't know yet how all these QBs will be valued. That really makes this year's top 10 unusually unpredictable.

It is absolutely not out of the question 5 QBs are gone in the first 7-8 picks. It is also possible only 3 will be gone.

Atlanta is in the driver's seat. You can throw away any available draft pick value chart. I think they'll be asking for a ransom as they should.

I don’t see Pitts getting past the Dolphins. Remember Miami is New England of the South and the Patriots love two tight end sets. The Lions could draft Pitts as well because Goff plays better in the two tight end attack. If Pitts is really Randy Moss without the baggage:rolleyes:, why would the teams in front of the Cowboys pass on him. I personally have my doubts about tight ends but most draft analysts have him as a top 3 player in this draft.

Well, Chase and Sewell are pretty rare prospects themselves though.

Daniel Jeremiah said on the NFL Network that a scout told him that Chase is like Anquan Bolden with speed, and that his attitude out on the field is like Steve Smith’s dog attitude.

Chase is a phenomenal prospect. If Dallas wasn’t already so loaded at WR, we very well might be talking about going up for Chase instead of Pitts. And Chase plays a position that the NFL traditionally values more than TE.

As for Sewell, PFN said he’s the best left tackle prospect that they’ve ever graded when they watch him play, and that is at a position that is valued at the very top by NFL teams. They routinely draft LT’s in the top 10.

That’s why I think there is a solid chance that Chase and Sewell go ahead of Pitts, even though Pitts is so good.

But I could be wrong.

Is Chase better then CeeDee? The college offenses make players look like a video game. Chase is not in the same league as Megatron or Julio Jones who were true elite prospects. I don’t think he is the prospect that Cooper was or even OBJ. We will see what happens. Cincinnati might pass on protecting their prized quarterback for Chase.

Speaking for myself, I do think Chase is better than CeeDee, OBJ, and probably Cooper.

Just like Pitts, it isn’t just his physical traits that make him so good. It is how the guy plays football. How he goes after the ball, how he creates separation with his strength, how he tracks the ball, etc.

He’s just really a good player... of course that is all IMO.

The thing that leads me to believe that Pitts lasts until #10 is that the position is devalued, sort of like a guard.

Just like OG Quentin Nelson didn’t make it to the 10th pick (6th)... I don’t see any way that Pitts makes it there.

Nelson is a rare guard and Indy hasn’t regretted that pick for a second. Pitts is a rare TE and teams see that. Even if the teams that are there don’t take him, I think someone will move up for him before 10.

JMO.

Agreed but I don’t know if Chase, Waddle and Smith are elite talents at wide receiver.
Chase is special, Waddle has Hill type of speed, Smith is the one I could see dropping, but he just had an incredible season.

I think you can move up for a 4th to be honest.

I agree with this. I love Gallup, think he could be a top deep threat in this league but I can't see any way to retain him with the $$$ it will take.
Pitts guarantees gallup doesn't resign imo...

I’m a big fan of Ceedee as well but Chase is the better prospect. And he’s a better prospect than Cooper was IMO. Julio and Megatron are freaks. OBJ is a better pro than he was in college. Heck Sammy Watson was the #1 WR in that draft. I think Chase has the tools to be the best WR in the league.

I will give you this, Chase is better then Waddle and Smith. I think both players are vastly overrated. Waddle is injury prone and never played many plays at Alabama because he was always behind the other bama receivers. He had the spotlight this year and was injured. He looked really gimpy in the National Championship game and did not finish the game. I hope the Eagles draft him.:):lmao2:

Smith did not do anything on his pro day. Major red flag for me. He is the product of the video game college offenses.
