I think it's clear, the Cowboys aren't going OL early in the draft

We're loaded with depth at the OL position, I'm not saying it's good depth, but it's depth, it's competition! Competition will bring us a starter, and I'm sure the Cowboys couldn't be any happier right now, acquiring depth at the OL position, so they can focus elsewhere in the draft.

Several on here felt we could go OL, but to be honest, this depth might not mean much, you never know with the Cowboys. But so far, it's clear they're looking at other pressing needs. Please give your thoughts!

As I said in the signing post the Dallas Cowboys.com guys all think this is more about being able to keep Joe Milton upright in the preseason games and give better run blocking for the rookie runningback(s) during the 2nd half of preseason games.

Every team carries 9-10 OL, so technically every team has depth. Some teams have garbage lines, so that depth isn't very deep. I believe we fall somewhere in the middle until proven otherwise. Smith is a stud, and I believe Beebe will be solid and top-5 center in a year, two at most. But beyond those players, I'm not certain of what we have. Will Guyton step up in year two? Can Steele at least be average in pass blocking, and good in run blocking? Will Hoffman step up and take a position? No one knows. We have to let the coaches mold our talent into the best line it can be. But I do believe if a good tackle prospect slides down to them, we take him--I hope. Can't take any more chances with either line. No team goes very far with barely average lines.

You ain't never seen a team draft a Guard or Tackle and it makes them contenders overnight.

O-line is what you build when you have the important positions locked up.

Hoffman was better than Martin last season. I don’t think fans can believe their eyes.
Martin's body betrayed him last season and he graded out near the bottom of the league. That's how he knew it was time to retire.

Hoffman is a nice option and I love the attitude he plays with, but to be honest, he didn't really have to do a lot to be better than 2024 Martin.

 Exactly...that's not saying much at all. He didn't replace the future HOFer player.

You are correct

Yes, we are loaded with depth. We need to be loaded with actual starters. Actually I would be fine with just 5 of them.

Wow that's smart thinking to be honest, why get him killed with a lot of rookies out there

Well then I guess Riley's got his work cut out for him.
Let the positional competition begin and the best man win.
