I think Jerry just let something slip

He also started off that paragraph mentioning the offense in a negative sense as well as the line and didn't even mentioned Garrett as a coach, and then stated that we had a good special teams coach and coupled it out with him being happy with Wade and the defense.

If we were to take this analogy, then he mentioned two coaches he was happy with, and one he didn't mention, aka Garrett...

His whole point I think was that we haven't put together a complete game. He also mentioned that TOs were the key to the game and he spent time watching I believe the Saints-Carolina game, where they capitalized on being aggressive on defense. I expect an aggressive defensive game-plan by Wade. Jerry then mentioned after TOs, he believes we can move the ball on offense.

I heard that as well....but I wouldn't put alot of stock in that. Everybody knows that WP has nothing to do with the O and JG has nothing to do with the D....so we really don't have a "true" HC here.

I think we all wonder what the heck is going on......

Exactly and he praised Joe, but didn't even mention Garrett, even indirectly by stating coach of the offense... he seemed to start off with a statement of disappointment in the way the offense was performing, especially up-front..

Yep, seems he almost put himself out there as real HC. No wonder this team hasn't won during crucial times. I was shaking my head hearing him talk, and I used to be one of those defending Jerry all the time.

He keeps reminding me why I hate and love him as Owner. Love him because he spends and gets good talent as GM. But hate him because he is forever wasting that talent not letting the coaches coach and putting himself out there as face of the team. It doesn't seem like it will ever change.:bang2:

That is what I was inclined to thinking... I think Jerry actually has more faith in Wade than Jason Garrett... Wade has an extension for a year in the contract and I won't be surprised if he extends it at least a year...

I wouldn't read too much into what Jerry says at the moment.Jerry giving Wade another vote of confidence most likely makes Jerry think that the team will play better during these next three games.

I just don't think JJ would fire a coach during the season....Dave Campo anyone? the guy was 3 straight 5-11 seasons and was never fired during the season.

Of course, if they are embarrassed... But embarrassment I think predicates both Wade and Jason are gone. The thing though is Jerry singled out being pleased with Wade on defense and mentioned the great special teams coach, but he didn't mention Garrett at all..

But he was pretty much stating a couple things:

1. We haven't played a complete game
2. Our defense needs to create TOs, not just get TOs
3. We can move the ball
4. He also said he thought that Peyton was tricky prior, but he proved him wrong and he mentioned how he likes he things Peyton does, and even mentioned how he whupped up on us two years ago and relished it.

Yeah I'm not surprised. Ultimately its about scoring points and we arnt doing it enough. He's probably got 3 weeks to get the ship righted on offense, otherwise he may end up elsewhere next yr.

Our defense has been abysmal thus far in december, and has given up end of half/end of game scores with incredible regularity since WP got here.
