I don't think that the re-signing of Gurode and the signing of Kosier means Allen is out of here. My prediction is that we move Larry Allen back to RT and start Kosier at Guard.

RT?

That's not gonna cut the mustard. Larry ain't no Tackle. If he stays and restructures, he will play LG.

No, Larry's days at tackle are done, whether he stays or not.

I don't think this signing automatically means he's gone. If the S.Neal rumors are true though, then he might be.

Larry was at one time one of the best O-Tackles ever to play the game...granted that was awhile back, but I could see them trying him back there again.

I agree that if we sign Neal, it means LA is gone...

By the way, its not just me that thinks that about Allen...ESPN mentions it here...

and he can't pull as a guard...plus he has stated that he will not take a paycut to play here...

Allen has trouble moving now at Guard. He's very good when he has a guy in front of him, when he has to move laterally he gets in trouble.

He is not a Tackle, he's leaving the Cowboys.

Interesting that Dallas has told Kosier they expect him to play guard. Some had assumed that, but I hadn't yet...That might mean the end of Larry Allen. I just can't see him at tackle.

Allen is worth maybe 2 million as a starter at LG...he's outta here, and I'm glad...it's time to move on with guys who can actually move.

He will be a HOF'er, but to keep playing him only holds us back.

I agree it's premature to predict LA is gone. I believe he will be asked to take a pay cut and if he refuses we will cut him. The Kosier signing assures us that LA will not be paid 7.5m by us this year, that's all. As for moving him to RT, that will not happen.

Larry Allen can not play a RT, he doesn't have the feet anymore!

I agree LA stays, but not at RT. Everyone is predicting doom for LA. If he was to be released, why are they waiting. Just to see if they could find a replacement.

Kosier played 4 different OL positions. Maybe he plays RT.

RT? you mean ReTirement? there is no way that he stays for 7.5 million cap hit. he is not worth it.

Ball is in Larry's court -- he can rework his deal or get cut. If he gets cut we save about 3 mill in cap space. He's pretty much going to have to give up on that 2 million roster bonus if he wants to say. So we save between 2-3 million in cap space either way -- right about what Kosier is going to take up. Funny how that works huh?

I think Allen stays .Dallas has tons of cap money and dose not appear that they are going after the higher priced Free Agents so why would you not keep him?
I think for the first time in quite a while he will have an open competition for his starting job...
