I think our defense wins this game

Just a feeling guys, the Pack cannot run the ball and we load up on the pass. Our defense really came on the last few games with Irving really peaking and the other guys getting 2 weeks rest, Mo returning and the younger guys are really getting it.

I think we hold them under 17 points and we run all over these guys, really beat them up.

Just my 2 cents.

We didn't get to him earlier in the season. We made him beat us from the pocket and dink and dunk. He was in a funk then and missed a lot. We made the GB WR'S look basic. They are. But he makes them better.

The better team should win. We are the better team. This reminds me of Peyton Manning teams. Top QB in the game and he made them go. Got to the playoffs and the better team won. We cannot lose to this team if we play our game.

I can buy this only if Dallas gets out to an early double-digit lead. That said, if Dallas can "nickel" their way through the Packers run game, it increases their chances of at least forcing Rodgers to hold the ball a bit longer.

No Jordy Nelson. A big receiver who usually kills us. Our secondary has the depth and more to cover Cobb (5-10), Adams (6-1), Montgomery (6-0), TE Cook (6-5). Our secondary faces a tougher wr/te group in practice (with no Jordy Nelson). Yes it comes down to our pass rush, but I think we have the rotation and fresh legs to get after Rodgers.

Prediction: David Irving, Game MVP. Stat line: 3 sacks, 2 strips, 1 FR, 4 QBHs, 2 batted passes, 8 tackles, 5 TFLs. Gets an early start on his All-Pro campaign in 2017.
I think I would have to "test" that guy if he ends up with that type of stat line. But stranger things have happened this year. I think we all have high hopes for Irving in this game and it would just tickle me blue if he actually delivers on the promise of the last two games...now that Gregory is back on the shelf.

Dallas is soft versus Tight Ends...better versus wide receivers, which might be a function of the style of defense they play. As long as you don't have Gronk-level foolishness, they can get away with it. Detroit certainly tried with Eric Ebron (8 for 93yds), but it wasn't terribly effective in the end...mostly because Stafford wasn't pushing the ball down the field...something Rodgers will certainly attempt to do.

That said...without Nelson, they will certainly be easier to defend.

Two high scoring offenses... of course it will be up to the defenses to make the difference. I hope it's ours. :D

So our FS Jones is softer covering TE's. Nah...I like my opinion better with Claiborne back and Jones not having to worry covering wr's with our full arsenal of cb's.

A defense output which nullifies any potential GB running game, and designs & executes exotic blitz packages confusing Rodgers will force long conversions on 3rd down, which can lead to potentially timely turnovers.

Special Teams performances on kickoffs and punt returns are crucial -- the field position game cannot be overlooked (I trust McFadden more on kickoffs, more so than Whitehead).

And no 'stupid' penalties.

Marinelli and Bisaccia must bring their "A" game.

He's flashed a few games but come on. Green Bay has 3 #1 ranked passing offensive lineman for their positions in the entire NFL. Let's not crown him the next Lawrence Taylor quite yet.

Oh, it's a huge concern to me. I mean, the fact we are at home on a faster track has to be to our advantage. I said one thing last week on this board and said it a few times: a BIG part of Gbay's success at home in January is throwing at will on a bad field. Did you see the NY Dline trying to get traction on that field? It was pointless. It's MUCH easier to pass block on a field like that for obvious reasons.

Our guys up front are different from NY. Longer, leaner, faster and we also have more depth because we're finally healthy. I HOPE that Rod has coached them up in terms of faking injury if need be. Pack will be running hurry up to dictate tempo and more importantly coverage schemes and matchups. I wouldn't mind seeing a few of our guys "go down" on Sunday to break their rhythm. No, not the proudest thing we'd ever do but it falls under winning "by any means necessary"

This is a no-brainer - we have to have enough speed on defense to make Rodgers hurry at least a bit. Under some pressure he is not adverse to taking the short throws but giving him 5 seconds or more to throw will kill any defense. I don't mind spying him a little from time to time to make him mindful of it.

I think we match up well. They have no RBs and all their WRs are hurt. We already have the best run defense in the NFL (based on yards) so I don't expect them to be able to run at all. And I think with Claiborne back, our DBs are better than their receivers. We can run the 32 defense and have 6 DBs to make sure nobody gets open. It really comes down to, can Aaron Rodgers beat us single handedly? I think Atlanta will be a much bigger test. Their offense is dominant and balanced. I said all year that if we lose, it'll be to Atlanta. And I don't see the Seahawks standing much of a chance against us.
