I think our shortlist is down to 5 names at 24

I am going to laugh if we take Olave or Burks.

Nothing says great roster building than using three numbers one picks in four years to acquire your WRs.

Yeah, let’s use top resources at the most plentiful position in the draft.

But we know, Jerry loves his flash. LOL.

In reality, I've seen some say we took Lamb when we had Cooper and Gallup.

But that was a unique situation. Lamb was viewed as arguably the best WR in the class and slid to us. That was one of those cases where you had to take Lamb because he was clearly the best on the board. I highly doubt where we are picking Olave or Burks will be the clear best player available forcing us to have to take one or the other. I suspect they are going to have options at 24 in terms of maybe an OT or two, some interior OL, possibly a DL or even LB at 24 that makes more sense and has similar pick value than a WR like Olave, for example.

To say nothing of the prospect of trading down for more picks. This team has plenty of needs to fill and this looks to be a deep draft. And while it’s not a very good year for quarterbacks, I think you can still leverage a team of two to trade up to get one.

Unless Linderbaum is somehow there, or a top pass rusher falls, I’m looking to trade down for more picks to fill more needs.

The good news is a rookie non-route running, non-technician like Burks should have much more impact than a mediocre route runner like Cooper

One thing I like about the Cowboys FO is that they don't get cute in round 1. You look at the guys we've drafted in the Will McClay era, they were either BPA or somewhere close to it when we were on the clock.

The team looks like they are focusing on offense this year, and I would guess it comes down to the best offensive player on the board when we're up. Just because of the way the talent breaks this year, it's probably going to be a guard or a WR.

Clear messaging coming out that this team wants to retool both their OL and Wide Receiver units. Unless something unexpected happens, I strongly believe 1 of these 5 prospects will be the team's pick at 24, in no particular order:

-Linderbaum
-Green
-Zion Johnson
-Burks
-Olave

Don't foresee, any of the top 6 edge rushers falling nor any of the top tackles. Both Dean/Hill are the wildcards if they are in that wipeout scenario. Davis lovers, he is expected to be long gone.
Give me Raimann. Dude's a beast and can play RT until he moves to LT when Tyron makes his annual trip to the injured list.

He is hard to project, is he a 1st rd player or more of a day 2 prospect?

☆treylon burks,wr-arkansas
☆kenyon green,og-texas a&m
☆bernhard raimann,ot-central michigan

still think its one of those 3.
but if de travon walker,georgia...jermaine johnson, fsu or karlaftis,de-purdue is there...all bets are off.

i like the potential board shaping up at 24.
this is going to be a fascinating pick.
i think we'll get a helluva player.

i'd love georgia dt jordan davis or devonte wyatt...but i'm not setting myself up anymore about a dt in rd1.

lb nkobe dean, georgia would be fun.
but i think he and lloyd might be long gone by 24.
if a ceedee lamb falls to us...i think he's in that de group.
i'm probably wrong.
but my gutt says he's a de.

my 2 favorite receivers are treylon burks arkansas and chris olave ohio st.
olave i think is the better player.
excellent route runner.
great pair of hands.
he's likely going before 24 but you never know.
if its a receiver...i think its treylon burks.
love his size and physicality.
i like that type of receiver.
og kenyon green,a&m is still my favorite pick...i think i want it too much.
but he'd be a perfect piece to add to this oline.
wil mcclay's statement about seeing alot of tackles who could play guard makes me think we might be looking some where else at 24.
i dont think penning or raiman project as guards...maybe penning because of his physicality.
but how many guards are 6'6?
the tackles that could move inside seem to be in that 2nd or 3rd Rd range or even later.
salyer at georgia i love.
kinnard,kentucky.
cade mays,tenn
those 2 tulsa kids.
zach tom,wf.
so...that brings me back to 24.
wr.
de.
unless they think raiman could slide inside.
i do think if they take an ot...he's the eventual replacement to tyron.
but mcclay's comment makes me think our olineman comes in rd2 or 3.
wr.
de.

just did'lin.
nothing to read here.

Tyler Smith could be better than any of these OL on your list.

And I'm a big fan of Faalele too.

He should be one of the top OT's off the board (IMO he is 1st rnd but I'm JAG) but if he isn't, and the edge guys we like are gone - we need to grab him.

Does Faalele have enough lateral agility to effectively block the better DE's in the league?

Think there are several teams that view him as more as a Guard on the next level which would make him slide

He is planetary sized but his lateral agility is very good.

Plus his pterodactyl wingspan and punch make him a real bear to get around.

Converted Rugby player like Eagles Mailata.
