I think the 5 seed is optimal

Before you kill me hear me out. SF is not losing to the Cardinals. No way. Philly could lose to the Giants but with the week off on the line I think they will win. More to play for. The Dallas defense looks toasted right now. Parsons running around with a club hand. Armstrong hurt. Lawrence in July form. DTs are non existent. Safeties are banged up. It’s not good and the production slippage really shows. I know the path is best at home. I do. That said Dallas is notoriously weak at home. Look at SF last year. I still think Dallas can beat Washington without some key guys but I would rest them all anyway. Dak plays for a half. I would do the same for Lamb and Pollard and Gallup. I would sit out much of the defensive starters. This team needs to be geared up and healthy and that defense needs no excuses. I like the Tampa matchup as much as Seattle. I don’t like a potential Detroit matchup. Rodgers owns us so pass on GB. I can’t see SF losing. So it’s the 5. Let’s rest our guys and be ready to go in Tampa. Press the roster and maybe we are the 2. Banged up and facing the hungry Lions. No way.

Thoughts?

Getting locked into the 5 seed last weekend would have been optimal. Now that we’re playing everyone against Washington I sorta hope we get a home playoff game out of it. But I wouldn’t be any more confident playing Green Bay opposed to playing at Tampa.

If we want to win our first playoff game, I agree with you….we may be better off on the road.

If we plan on getting out of the NFC, it’s tough to figure on THREE road playoff wins in the same season.

Tough call. What I see in Tampa is a weak team that we match up terribly with.

It’s a tough one I know but I don’t see beating Philadelphia in Philly as impossible. None of these NFC teams are juggernauts.

I think the fifth seed is garbage. A 13 and 4 fifth seed. Play our guys just in case Philly craps the bed. We could be the second seed or have home field if they lose.

If Philly slips up I would hate not to capitalize on it because we choose to rest players.
..heres my take. Since both games begin at same time.

By halftime, if philly is blowing out NYG. Rest the guys. If by chance, its the other way around. Full throttle.

Thoughts are it is totally wrong. 1 seed is best and 2 seed is second best. It isn't even close

If we can't get the #1 seed then the #5 seed is the next best spot.
How can you possibly think that. It doesn't many any sense whatsoever. Look at the second round and the home field aspect of being the 2 vs the 5. It's not about winning one game. If we can't beat any of those 7 seeds at home we aren't winning the next week any way.

Give me the 1 or 2 seed all day. Even if the 5 seed give you a better 1st round matchup, you have to think about round 2 and 3 as well. With the 2 seed you have a chance at home field throughout, and maybe you land a team like NY round two instead of traveling to SF or Philly.

Either GB or TB I would expect to beat....and if the Cowboys can't then what chance would they realistically have against better teams anyways?

If both the iggles and us play at the same time, you have no choice but to play to win.

Keeping a buffalo eye on the iggles score isn't a good strategy.

My suspicion is that they roll out the start of the game with most of the starters, and then check the Philly score at halftime. If the Eagles are destroying the Giants (which I suspect they'll be doing) then Dallas sits down guys like Dak, Cee Dee, Lawrence, etc. for the second half.

I want us to turn up this weekend and destroy Washington... head into the playoffs feeling good and riding some kind of form.

If we go in half hearted and lose or scrape a win, we'll head into the playoffs just looking to get spanked.
