I think the better question is, who will be the DC next season?

Im guessing that red will be the HC next year and I have no problem giving him a shot. He's agressive by nature and I can live with that.

That leaves a void at DC with Wade gone. Who is likely to fill that void?

It's a great question because it more closely addresses what Jerry Jones will most likely do based on his past hiring history. Capers would be my guess if it were a "name" coaching prospect.

He's the coordinator in Green Bay.Yes ,he runs a 34 defense.

On another note look up Keith Butlers Bio from the Steelers.

Capers is in GB as DC. Would he have to be considered Assistant headcoach?

I believe so since lateral moves are not allowed from team to team.

I'll give you a hint. He was the first player to win three Super Bowls in a row.

NFL.com lists Capers as special assist / secondary coach and Mike Trgovac as the DC. Their website has them the other way around. Either way, we'd have to give Capers the Ast Head Coach title to bring him here.

And what makes you think he'd be the guy Red picks?

what about someone from the dolphins defensive staff. someone like todd bowles was considered a candiate at one time. he knows how some of our weak defensive player play.

Dennis Thurman?

I'd love Thurman on the Cowboys' staff, but he has no experience as a DC. Same with Ken Norton Jr. It would be just like the Garrett situation, except on D, guys learning on the job. Big D is a patient place for first timers, especially for newbies. Even guys w/winning records (e.g. Wade & Chan) had a short hook.

And no way Capers leaves GB unless it is for a HC position, which is not going to happen. Besides, he does not have the fire and brimstone personality that all the fans/local media are clamoring for.
