I think the boys should go after Louisville safety Gerod Holliman in the second round

or trade down from the first to get him, we have not had a great safety since Woody retired.

I'm not a fan of football players who don't like to tackle. Can't say I'm not intrigued by the ball skills though

Word is the safety they are interested in is Damarious Randall ASU.

To my knowledge they have had no visits or contacts with Holliman

I have Holliman in my mock but in the 5th round not the 2nd. I don't think he is physical enough that teams will take him in the 2nd or 3rd, but he has exactly the kind of FS Centerfielder skills that would make him a great Nickel Safety. That's a great return on a 5th round pick but not a 2nd.

my best bets for FS are josh shaw and Eric Rowe, both can tackle and will make excellent center fielders.

A lot of people like his lesser known teammate James Sample more and think he will be drafted before Holliman

It usually works the other way around but in the case of Randall, he might actually be better suited to play CB in the NFL. As a Safety, he is terrible IMO. He just looks lost and about as bad a tackling Safety as I've ever seen. I don't know about this guy.

My point of view exactly.

You can get away with poor tackling at the cornerback position, but a safety MUST be a sure tackler since they're the last line of defense.

I see Randall as a CB only, as he looks like a baby deer when he goes to make a tackle.

Worse yet, a baby deer on the wall. Sometimes, he just sits there and watches the clouds go by. I have no idea what he is doing sometimes. I know that he's a Baseball guy and really didn't play Football full time but still. I really question the Cowboys interest in Randall.

I see some Ed Reed in him... but even Ed would come down for a tackle... This kid seems very reluctant to lay his shoulder down for a tackle...

If he's the pick at 60 all I can say is, hopefully best buy is having a sale on TVs that weekend.

I would rather take P.J. Williams in the 2nd and move him to safety with his ball skills, great zone coverage, and his aggression in run defense.
